Incredible home!

House is just incredible It was perfect for our family . We had a fabulous time. The location is private with a heated pool and hot tub.We came to Bearsville to escape the heat of South Florida for the month of August Between the 6 adults and 5 grandchildren there was more than ample room We spent a lot of time at the pool heated to perfection, in the hot tub and by the fire pit Lots of cooking on the fabulous stove and oven as well as barbecuing . Plenty of grounds to explore on the property. Many adventures in the area and lots of music venues nearby including a separate music room with drums & guitars! In addition to the music room there are tons of games and a large screen tv and ping pong table in the family room. House and property aside ,… the host and manager were very attentive to all our needs and a pleasure to deal with while there. We look forward to returning next year

About the host

We are a family with a home in Brooklyn and a home in Bearsville, NY in the Catskill Mountain area. We are beginners to renting out our homes and very much want you to enjoy them! Please contact us with any questions or comments. We want to communicate and connect with people all over the world.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this log cabin the moment we saw it. It's on an ample 36 acres that abuts on state land. We love how much space there is in every part of the house, with the gorgeous rooms and high vaulted ceilings. We love the huge craggy gray rocks that abound on the property and the beautiful seclusion of the forest. We're in the pool absolutely whenever we can be, otherwise we're in the hot tub or playing music or games -- in the Great Room, the rec room or the music studio. We barely feel like leaving because the house is so comfortable, but we can't resist heading out to dinner or live music in Woodstock, or goat yoga at our friend Victoria's farm, or traditional yoga with our friend Linda! We love the Woodstock flea market, the candle store, and the beautiful bar at Early Terrible. We love swimming nearby at Lake Onteora, playing tennis in town, and more than anything, hiking on our own mountain trails and the plentiful hiking mountain trails all around the area.

What makes this property unique

Our property is an absolute stand-out in the area. We're not sure how we got so lucky. It's got great views, is new and vast while still being cozy, and is one of the only six-bedroom properties in our area that has both a heated pool and a large outdoor hot tub.
Lovingly maintained by ourselves and our local friends who have worked in the area their whole lives, the grounds are beautiful and wild, and the cabin is infused with warmth and happiness. Hate has no home in Rockledge Lodge, and even the most mischievous children will see that our house rules include no hitting and no name-calling. There's always a private place to get some space if little tempers flare. It's a spacious retreat that's frequently filled with music and good conversation. We love to cook and bake. We have a fully stocked woodpile, and we love to have a fire in the wood-burning stove or outside in the bonfire pit (season permitting). We get exercise swimming laps, walking down the driveway to the monastery, running along Cold Brook Road, gardening, or hiking up the mountain behind the house. Good vibes only!
