We had a too short but great, relaxing stay. We spent our mornings and evenings on the front porch enjoying the mountain views. The general store was right next door and had all the essentials and more. There were trails right across the street we explored. We couldn’t get the AC working, but we also did not bother to contact the owners because the inside temperature was comfortable enough with a box fan and a crack in the door during the day. There’s a cute little “van” cafe that served coffee, snacks, and breakfast and lunch burritos, but items are limited..so first come, first serve. There were other food vendors but they are only open on certain days and times. We drove into Leadville, which was about a 15-20 min pleasant drive, for lunch and dinner. We went have lunch, walked downtown and shopped, and just bought dinner to-go to save and eat later in the evening at the cottage. It was an easy going and relaxing experience.
