We just couldn’t have enjoyed our stay any more! The house was not only stunningly beautiful with all the details of an old historic home it also was beyond comfortable with all the modern day amenities and classic modern style. The owners we gracious and responsive even leaving us the sweetest thank you note and a gorgeous bouquet of flowers! We are already looking forward to coming back!
We stayed here to celebrate our son's graduation from Mercersburg Academy. It was perfection. The house is absolutely beautiful and was perfect for our family to mingle with each other and hang out. The rooms and bathrooms are huge and space is surely not a problem. The kitchen, although I used it to serve rather than cook, is well appointed with everything you would ever need. It also has 2 spacious refrigerators and a commercial stove. There is a great coffee bar which we thoroughly enjoyed. The bedrooms have TVs and sound machines. The beds were comfortable and we all got a great night's sleep. Although by day there is a good deal of traffic on Main Street, by night it didn't bother us a bit. The parking was ample with easy access to the house for moving in/out. Another convenience is the proximity to the Academy and to Mercersburg's small downtown. It is easily walkable and everything is handy.
The owners had terrific communication skills and were super accommodating. My only regrets are that we did not find this beauty prior to this stay and that we couldn't stay longer. We have had a child at the Academy for 6 years and only on our departure did we finally stumble upon this beauty. Book it, and book it now before the secret is out!!
Thanks for the warm hospitality and for making our last hoorah special!!

About the host
Hosted by Miranda Newman
Between running businesses, hosting gatherings, and renovating historic spaces, creating places where people can connect has become a big part of our lives.
Rosemont is one of our favorite projects. We fell in love with the home’s character and the way it naturally invites people to slow down and spend time together whether that’s around the table, on the porch, or exploring the surrounding countryside. When we’re not working, we love traveling, good food, and hosting friends and family, so we try to make Rosemont feel like the kind of place we’d want to stay ourselves.
Why they chose this property
Rosemont sits in a beautiful rural pocket near Mercersburg Academy, surrounded by farmland, mountain views, and peaceful country roads. It’s the kind of place where mornings are quiet, evenings are perfect for sitting on the porch, and you can truly unplug for a while.
At the same time, it’s an easy drive to charming small towns, wineries, hiking, and historic sites throughout the region. We love that it feels tucked away but still close to so many great things to explore.
What makes this property unique
Rosemont is a historic home with a lot of personality. It has spacious rooms, beautiful architectural details, and a wraparound porch that quickly becomes everyone’s favorite place to gather.
The house works especially well for small groups from family weekends to celebrations, girls’ trips, or even intimate weddings and elopements. Our goal was to create a space that feels elegant but comfortable, where people can relax, cook together, share meals, and make memories.
