Victorian in Historic Downtown Petoskey - Multi-Family Ready!
North Star is a Victorian home in the gaslight district of Petoskey, Michigan, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Walking distance
This 2400 square foot home was built in 1920 with a huge front porch and beautiful woodwork. The second floor mimics the first, with its own kitchen, dining and living room, as well as two bedrooms and a bathroom, so this makes it ideal for multiple families. Additionally, the attic has been finished into a kid's area with television, daybeds, and games. To make your stay even easier you'll have access to laundry facilities in the basement.
Walk along the river, to the waterfront, and throughout the shopping district for unique finds and dining choices. Spend your days enjoying world class skiing, sledding, and ice skating in the winter, or swimming, playing golf, boating, canoeing, biking, fishing, walking, and more, in the summer. There is also a world class casino, Odawa, just a few miles away for gaming, dining, and shopping.
Amenities include: outdoor fire pit and gas grill, balcony and covered front porch, wi-fi, two refrigerators, two stoves, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, washer and dryer, ironing board and iron. City water and sewer. Dishes, glasses, silverware, pots and pans. Board games, cards, three televisions with dvd/vcrs, and Apple tv.
Activities and Attractions: Minutes to Petoskey State Park, Boyne Highlands, Nubs Nob, Boyne Mountain, Odawa Casino, Little Traverse Wheelway bike path, Bear River for kayaking and fishing, Petoskey marina and beach, shopping and dining in historic downtown Petoskey and nearby Bay Harbor, Harbor Springs and Charlevoix.

About the host
Hosted by Stephanie Orth

I am a high school English and journalism teacher and my husband is an electrical engineer. I earned my bachelor's degree from CMU, master's from Wayne State. After several years in the advertising business, I stayed home with my girls until they were all in elementary school, then went back to school to get my teaching certificate. I now teach at Lake Orion High School. We have three daughters and live in Clarkston.
Why they chose this property
I grew up with a cottage in Harbor Springs, owned by my grandparents. I fell in love with the area. My husband and I decided Petoskey was a little more our speed, and spent one weekend looking at houses for sale. We fell in love with the front porch, incredible wood trim, fire place, and potential to make the attic a play space for kids. The charming kitchens - two, making having more than one family here a breeze - were a huge bonus. Add in the carriage house with a second floor, wonderful neighbors, and ability to walk everywhere, and we were sold.
What makes this property unique
Our family loves to downhill ski all winter and this location offers three world class ski hills within 15 minutes. In the summer, we stroll downtown Petoskey trying all of the quaint restaurants, sandwich shops, and of course, ice cream shops. We love walking along the Bear River and out to the lighthouse where our children will spend hours jumping from the break wall into the bay. We also enjoy biking along the Wheelway into Charlevoix for lunch, and back again.
