About the host
Your host
We save and rehab historic property as rentals. We think older architecture is glorious and that the New Orleans lifestyle is unique and spectacular in every way.
Why they chose this property
The history of New Orleans and The Treme where it is located (also called Esplanade Ridge) is the first grande avenue built in the city and pre dates St Charles Ave uptown. Settled by the French in the early 1700’s our street connected the French Quarter to the lake through the swamps and old Indian camps.
This location was primarily built by free people of color in the oldest multiracial community in our country. The original French , and Spanish settlers brought great beauty and culture to this area that was perpetuated by all the Creoles.
A walk on our street under the giant oak trees and through the local community is like no other.
What makes this property unique
Built by free people of color just before the civil war this home is literally constructed with available materials of that time in a way that kept the occupants both safe and comfortable.
Heart of pine floors from the swamps, Hand hewn nails from the blacksmith and high ceilings to keep the air cool. Balconies that are accessed by 12 foot doors to look over the avenue at special events.
Our property is a comfortable and creative space in every way.
