Lovely home in the woods, with hot tub and campfire ring
Relax in this beautiful home in a spruce forest, 5 miles from downtown Seward.
The home is ideal for larger groups. The main part of the house has a fully appointed kitchen upstairs, with a bedroom and half bath on this floor. There are 2 decks on this level - one that is covered (perfect for dinners outside even on less-than-perfect weather days!) and one deck that faces the evening sun, which is great for happy hour. Downstairs is a full bath and bedroom with a queen bed and twin bunkbeds.
Through the laundry room, there is another side of the house that is a loft apt. Here there is another full kitchen, couch and TV, bedroom with a queen bed, and the loft with a comfy queen futon. The loft is accessed with steep stairs, so no children under age 8 are allowed in this space. There is also a bathroom with shower on this side of the house, and an arctic entry with a chest freezer to store your fishing charter catch.
The backyard has a trail with a log bridge leading out to a fire ring, and firewood is provided. There is also a hot tub on the back deck, looking out to the spruce forest.
There is a gas grill for use on the deck just off the upstairs kitchen, and a wood stove to help keep things cozy. Note there is no TV in the main living room of the home. There is a TV in the upstairs bedroom and the loft apt. We do provide WiFi but no cable.
We purchased the home in 2006 and just loved it. When we moved to Anchorage in 2010 we did rent it on VRBO for a few years with rave reviews. Now that our children are older we've decided to rent it out again. We still use the home ourselves, so the kitchen is fully stocked (spices, oils, excellent cookware), there are games, etc. We want to share it with others who will also enjoy and take good care of it.
** Please note that we do have a Ring security camera on all entrances of the home. This camera is in place for security reasons only.

Great place to stay. Loved the hot tub and it was amazing to see the moose and her calf come right into the yard. Nice location that was just a short drive to all our activities.
Beautiful location. Comfortable, clean home with everything we needed. Enjoyed our stay and would book again with them. 😀 Happy camper all the way around!!
We had an amazing time. Large enough for 4 couples and 2 kids to sleep and hang out. Spent more time inside than we hoped to due to rough seas. I would recommend this place
This property is a little Hideaway piece of Heaven on Earth. Not to far from Seward, fishing and activities it is tuck away in the Alaskan wilderness and has all the amenities one would desire to be comfortable. The home is so well designed to accommodate guests of all ages. We loved being able to gather around the campfire out back and enjoyed the hot tub! The house is comfy/cozy and well stocked with everything you might need including the internet. Highly recommend this property!
This is an awesome place to stay. Julie has thought of everything from a beautiful fire pit for roasting marshmallows to an amazing grill set up and your own hot tub! The property is somewhat secluded yet close to everything in Seward. The interior is roomy with beautiful woodwork. Plenty of amenities. One of the nicest places we stayed. Communication was perfect too. Thank you.
We had four adults and six kids with us. The house was fabulous for our group and was well stocked for supplies, beds and towel’s. The kitchen handeled our large group very well and they had plenty of dishes and pots and pans. They had plenty of games to play which came in handy on rainy days. I would say it was a very positive experience and would highly recommend it!
Where to begin with this wonderful house! Ample space for our 3-generation 11-member group to spread out and to sleep comfortably. Big kitchen stocked with lots of supplies for easy family dinners. Hot tub and fire pit, enjoyed first with the kids, and then after their bedtime. Tons of games and books enjoyed by the whole family. Every detail made our visit more comfortable and enjoyable for the whole group. The location couldn't be better - <15 mins from every activity we wanted to do in Seward (cruise, glacier hike, bear creek fish stream). Julie was exceptionally communicative and helpful - check in and check out were very easy with Julie's instructions. Our daughters would only leave on the condition that we come back!
Property managers and Owners (Julie & Ray) , were amazing. Somehow lost check in email , but a quick text to Julie , was all I needed, even though cell service is sporadic during our drive out. Julie was very responsive, by the time we arrived .
We had a issue with House, but our communication with Julie and Ray, made it so easy to navigate, we could not have asked for better owners, they were quick to address and fix, our concerns.
The house itself was exactly as billed, so many little touches (kitchen , games , towels , etc etc) made it a home away from home, and so very comfortable. I would highly recommend this property !
