Tucked high among the trees on Beech Mountain, A-Frame Above is a brand-new A-frame cabin designed for slowing down, reconnecting, and soaking in the mountain atmosphere. With its private setting, peaceful views, and cozy design, this is the kind of place where mornings start with coffee on the deck and evenings end by the fire with your favorite people.
Inside, the cabin blends warm, rustic character with clean, modern finishes. The open living space features soaring wood ceilings, expansive windows, and a cozy fireplace that’s perfect after a day outdoors. The fully equipped kitchen offers modern appliances, generous counter space, and a large island ideal for shared meals, game nights, or relaxed mornings before heading out.
There’s plenty of room for everyone to get comfortable with four inviting bedrooms, a loft with a king bed, and three full bathrooms. Each space is thoughtfully designed for rest and privacy, while the loft adds an extra layer of charm with its elevated views. Step outside to enjoy the expansive deck surrounded by trees and mountain scenery — perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks — and wind down later in the hot tub or around the fire pit under the stars.
The location offers the best of both worlds with a peaceful, tucked-away feel that’s still close to everything Beech Mountain has to offer. You’re just minutes from Beech Mountain Resort, the Trails of Emerald Outback, Buckeye Lake, local wineries and breweries, and the shops and restaurants of downtown Banner Elk, making it easy to balance adventure, relaxation, and time exploring the area.

*** Please Note ***
Road conditions on Beech Mountain can change quickly, especially during winter weather, so please plan your drive accordingly. If snow or ice is possible, having 4WD or 4x4 is strongly recommended, and in some cases tire chains may be needed (there are several rental options at the base of the mountain). Always use extra caution and drive safely.
Cell service can be spotty on the mountain, so we recommend using your GPS early and often to make sure you have the route loaded before service drops.
The driveway can be steep, with the south side (approaching from Poplar Dr) being the less steep option. Please use caution when entering and exiting.
The ship’s ladder leading to the loft is also quite steep. Please take extra care when using it, especially when going up or down, and keep in mind it’s not intended for play.
