Family Friendly Lake House-Steps from Tims Ford Lake, private dock

Summer Place is located on a private 7 acre wooded lot with a private dock. There are beautiful Lake Views from nearly every room in our 3 level family lake house on Tim's Ford Lake.
Grab a cup of coffee and sit on our deck, patio, or screened in porch and enjoy lake life.

Cook in our fully equipped kitchen, on our XL Green Egg or cook on the Blackstone 48 inch griddle...don't want to cook go to any of the 4 marinas to grab a bite to eat.

Lots of amenities like a kitchenette on the lower level, smart tvs, wii gaming system, a pool table, plus an arcade game with pacman, centipede, donkey kong, and so many more games. Go outside to play ping pong, corn hole on the big patio or sit by the fire and make s'mores.

You want a day off the lake, then hop in your car and go to historic downtown Lynchburg which is only 15 minutes away. Here are a few of our favorite places to eat there : Southern Perk or Miss Mary Bobos.

Perfect vacation!

We had an amazing family vacation at Summer Place! The owners were a absolute pleasure to work with, always ready to answer questions. The house had everything for every age range. Perfect location. Great views! And beds and linens are wonderful. We will be definitely coming back.

Group Couples Trip!

This was my 2nd stay at this property and it was perfect! The house is incredible, but the lake access is even more so. The house is so well-appointed: kitchen, linens, basement, dock and even entertainment elements. The owners are so nice, quick to communicate and very responsive to any concerns. I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!

our family of 9 enjoyed a week-long vacation in this lovely lake house.Everything was as described; clean, well appointed home with amenities to keep everyone happy.Access to the water is clearly one of the best on the lake.The ramps from patio are easy to navigate for all family members. Highly recommend.

The Lake House I would build

Our family of 10 stayed July 14-17, 2023: ourselves (early 60's), our three sons, daughters-in-law and two grandchildren, ages 5 1/2 and 2 1/2. The house has beautiful decor and beautiful lake views on multiple levels. It is furnished not only with comfortable furniture and beds, but everything you need and things you didn't know you might need at a lake house rental that are perfect additions. Indoor and outdoor gathering areas are spacious and nice for large families. If I were going to build a lake house, I would copy this one from top to toe. The owners are gracious and very helpful. We give it 5 stars plus and hope to rent it again in the future.

The Perfect Lakehouse

Summer Place is the perfect lakehouse for a luxury getaway with your family and friends. The house is beautifully decorated to provide the comfort of home away from home. The kitchen is spacious for cooking together with updated appliances. Plus you have access to a big green egg and blackstone! Every amenity is high quality down to the resort style lounge chairs on the terrace looking out over the dock and lake. Plus there is a central speaker system with separate room level controls for setting the tone of your lake trip. The greatest asset to this property is how close it is to the water though. Most lake houses have an endless stair case to get to the water. Summer place only has a handful of stairs from the downstairs terrace making access to the water much easier for everyone.

The most amazing vacation home

This is the most beautiful home and lakefront I think I’ve ever seen. First of all, the view is incredible. The house is only a few steps away from the water. It almost feels like you’re on a houseboat! This home slept our nine adults comfortably. It had every amenity we could think of, including a washer and dryer which came in handy when the monsoon hit us on the water! Lol There was a pool table, a throwback guitar hero, a ping pong table, and a separate ice machine and fridge downstairs. The outdoor sitting areas were so comfortable and pretty. We cannot wait to comeback and enjoy the outdoor fireplace and pizza oven! The kitchen had many supplies and dishes, as I love to cook! There were plenty of areas for large groups to sit together in the home. They had floats and a lily pad, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I could go on and on! The owners were so very nice and accommodating. Thank you Steve and Taylor for a wonderful 60th birthday and 35th wedding anniversary weekend!!
