The Jackson River Estate was the perfect getaway for our 2025 Family Reunion. The estate is very spacious and provides magnificent views. There is river access but the water is cold. The pool and slide were a big hit! Cole’s Point (beach), the humpback bridge and waterfall were super close and great excursions. This location is great for families that like to be outdoors…hiking, fishing, kayaking…Check-in/out was super easy. Although we heard there might have been a bear, there was no sighting. Some of the storms made it more buggy so bring your bug spray. Overall, we LOVED our week away.

Thank you for sharing your kind words. It’s great to hear that your family had a great vacation with us at Jackson River Estate.
Great property with lots of room and amenities . There are plenty of options for local outdoor activities . Host was always quick to respond and easy to contact . Highly recommend for large groups !
Lovely family vacation for 16 people. Setup with main house and 2 outbuildings worked well for our families to have their own space while gathering together for meals and movies. Game room and pool room nice adds. The location on the Jackson River between the dam and the Covington plant was terrific - water clear, clean, cold. Great kayaking/floating down to house from ramps upriver. The property needs some maintenance, a child-proof fence around the pool, and a bear box for trash, and is just starting to feel a bit tired. Covington is sadly not the cute Blue Ridge town we hoped for. All in all, the family really enjoyed the stay, location, river, trails and nearby Jeep/Bronco trails.
This property location is amazing, and the views are stunning. I would recommend that the owner have bear-proof trash receptacles, as we had to clean up messes 3 of the mornings we were there. There are no working ice makers, and the trays that we filled did not keep up with our needs, so I recommend being prepared to buy bags of ice to keep in one or more freezers. The front door lock and jam were unaligned, such that we had to leave that door not-fully-closed if anyone wanted to get in (we did secure it at night, but left it unlatched during the day). Jeremiah's communication was amazing -- he responded within minutes of all of my questions, and I really appreciated that! We would definitely return here.

I would've given the property a higher rating, but the outside property is not what you're going to see that's listed in the photo.. the river is beautiful but...I sent the property manager many pictures of issues beginning with the lack of deep cleaning, especially for the kitchen ovens .. the one in the main house looked like it not been cleaned for a very long time..Our nanny found a sock with a substance in one of the drawers in the basement, and my daughter found dirty towels, and socks in a drawer in the room that she was using. The towels need replacing as they have stains along with some of the shower curtain seriously stained carpets in kids rooms..not confident they had been shampooed.:both outside porches had not been cleaned for a long time as mold/mildew on cushions and exterior railings and walls..Torn screens on both levels, one corner we tried to hide before guests came and both grills each level covered in grease also unusable the cover on the floor for one and a hotel for 100's of stink bugs....we ended up cleaning one porch level so we could bring our 10 month old twins playpen on the deck. Suggested a punchlist for cleaners and a instruction booklet left at the main house .lights and filters inches of dead bugs inside the light filters and many of the house filters with an inch of dust on them a health issue for respiratory issues,..ceiling fan in cottage layers of dust visible from bed.. the deck at the cottage had cigarette ashes all over it.

Issues that needed to be handled have been resolved thank you for the feedback. Exterior decks and porches will never look brand new as they are out in the elements.
