About the host
Hosted by Donna M Sharma

I've worn many hats, as a double major in geology and zoology I have the unique opportunity to see the natural geological beauty and the flora and fauna of this unique island of Tobago. I've had the opportunity to visit such places as Scotland, England, Norway, Brazil, Italy, France, Switzerland, Jamaica, USA, Canada, Malaysia, Venezuela, Mexico, Thailand, and New Zealand. My latest ongoing adventures are to experience the magnificence of the National Parks of the USA. In my spare time when I'm not traveling I devote my energy in back yard gardening, providing nesting sites for local birds and planting natives plants to attract the butterflies, bees and other beneficial insects.
Why they chose this property
Anyone traveling to this part of the island of Tobago always make a stop at the iconic Englishman's Bay look out. When this property became available it was without hesitation that the decision to purchase was made. The view is incredible and the design of the building enhances the experience.
What makes this property unique
The benefit of designing and building this villa is that the occupants have a view from literally any part of the house. The Penthouse is vey unique in that even from the kitchen there is an almost 180 degree view. The lower floor has ceiling to floor glass which affords unique views.
The schools of fish in the bay can be seen shifting like giant amoebas and gulls frantically diving to satisfy their hunger are a must see sight.
Boaters visit the bay for fishing, scuba diving and even stopping off to take a splash and relax on the beach.
To the avid birder there many opportunities to observe many types of birds from this location without even leaving the villa.
To the astronomer, both professional and amateur the night sky is amazing. Don't take my word for it.
Villa Escalante is not far from other major attractions on this side of the island but what's unique is that wherever your travel you can always return to the solitude and beauty of Englishman's Bay.
