Stayed for 8 days. Slept like a baby! Centrally located so easy(once on main roads) to the beautiful beaches of St. Thomas. Michelle provided lots of valuable information regarding the airstream and the island. If you are a true traveler and not just a tourist, this is the place for you!
We have traveled to St Thomas a couple of times per year for a long time. This was one of the most fun. The camper tucked up in the "jungle" was a cool setting.
I spent 4 nights in this Airstream camper. It has all the comforts like a tv with Netflix and live channels, a gas grill, fridge, microwave, stove, shower, toilet coffee maker(with filters and coffee) utensils and everything you need to cook and eat. The deck was my favorite part, with two deck chairs and an awesome view of the ocean and islands in the distance. You definitely need a car, preferably SUV.
The Airstream and Michelle’s hospitality were the perfect match for our week in the Virgin Islands! We visited our 63rd National Park- USVI on St John while we were there; that completed a 40-year journey to visit all Us National Parks. We traveled to many of the parks in our Class B camper, and these accommodations were similar- everything we needed was there!
If this listing caught your attention like it did ours, then just book it, right now. It was very cool, great location high on a breezy hilltop and very very private outside deck, yet close to other neighbors. Sweeping views and sunset cant be beat. Camper is charming and very clean. Open windows for pleasant air flow and use powerful a/c for extra cooling. Upon arrival Michelle greeted myself and wife and showed us how to work all the trailer amenities. Host is very pleasant fun, and multifaceted. She stayed a short while for a drink at sunset, sharing the most incredible personal stories of adventure --ask her and be amazed. Great location, neat accommodations. Try this as opposed to a boring old hotel room. Very close by beach at Bolongo bay (public access). We will scarcely remember staying in a boring traditional hotel, but this we'll fondly not forget. Thank you again Michelle. J&L Ellicott City MD
Unbelievable experience with amazing views!
Place looks even better than the listing! Michelle was right there to greet us on arrival and very helpful! It’s a challenge to get up some of the hills so definitely need All Wheel drive vehicle to get around whole island! Thankful we got to have this experience! Island is amazing!!
This was a wonderful 4 night experience. Beautiful views and peaceful. Having a car is a plus. 4 wheel drive not required but nice to have. Communication with the host was wonderful and easy.
We had a great experience. As advertised, close to everything, very private, great vista, very clean and comfortable, never turned ac on due to the great breeze and fan, would definitely stay here again, highly recommend. The host Michelle thought of everything. Thank you, Lori and Willie
Have.sense of adventure? Stay Here! You'll be so glad you did.
This is an amazing spot! If you'd like to break away from the norm - this airstream has it all. It's perched on a peaceful hillside, with the ocean in the distance - above the lights and sounds of town, but still close enough for you to get in and out easy. It's comfortable for two, clean, incredibly well appointed, romantic, and will spark your sense of adventure. Michelle is an excellent host. I highly recommend.
Michelle was amazing!! Welcomed me literal open arms! The airstream was perfect for me! The sunrise and the sunset are unbeatable. Location was perfect- short drives to all the local beaches! There was an adorable feline who greeted me at the door every morning. Will be back again!
The airstream is beautiful. It was a little difficult being pregnant and all but my husband enjoyed it! We loved eating our breakfast outside. We were a few minutes away from multiple beaches And restaurants. We were glad we stayed here. We recommend getting an suv or truck for this trip though.
This airstream trailer was truly the best way to experience st Thomas!! We had never “glamped” before, but this certainly was the best first experience we could have had!! The trailer was so cute, very clean and a great use of space! We cooked breakfast every morning on the stove and on the outdoor grill, and we were provided with everything we could possibly need! The host really made our trip wonderful and was so welcoming and helpful with showing us the ins and outs of the airstream!! She also was super responsive and accommodating to us! Shower had hot water, AC, bed was super comfortable, Roku equipped TV, absolutely STUNNING view from the windows and the deck (my personal favorite part), amazing stargazing at night … what more could you ask for?! We rented a car and I am so glad we did, a sedan was the only car within our budget and we were able to get to and from the airstream perfectly fine, only trouble we had with this vehicle was getting to one of the more secluded beaches, we ended up having to turn around, but be prepared for “island roads” as the host calls them!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would love to come back and rent this place again in the future!!
This was a chance to try glamping in a beautiful place in the world.
The positives: the spectacular view of the bay and starry night sky, the peace and quiet away from the bars and cruise ships, the comfort of the Airstream, the responsiveness and warmth of host Michelle, and two resident cats that made me feel at home.
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5: plumbing issues came up a couple times.
The listing was honest about the need to rent a Jeep or similar 4-wheel drive. The roads are rough around the island and especially going up to the Airstream. Driving on St. Thomas is not for the faint of heart. Further, the short path from your parked car to the Airstream is fairly rugged. I managed it all just fine as a solo female traveler, but it’s not for everyone.
There’s Bolongo Bay Resort just down the hill, good for meals and chartered catamaran snorkeling trips. Red Hook has a few restaurants, a Moes Market, and Lindquist Beach. The hosts also provide beach chairs, saving the traveler the expense of renting such.
I’m glad I stayed here and would do so again.
Kevin and Michelle were incredible hosts that pretty much thought of everything for guests to enjoy their stay! From an immaculately clean space, killer sound system (which I played deep into the night a few times), towels, beach stuff, grill, A/C, cleaning supplies, etc. Everything you need to not have to worry about asking for anything! Despite this, Michelle checked in frequently. The location of the property feels extremely private and the views were to die for. Despite the recommended advice of having a car from Michelle, I figured I was fit enough to manage the 15 min walk down the hill to hail a cab at the Bolongo Bay. I had no issues getting a cab from the hotel, the only challenge being the majority of lifts I got back dropped me off at the bottom of the hill too… I needed the workout and was often drunk so it wasn’t bad, even with groceries in hand. However, PSA, I’ve been to STT many times so knew where I was going and what I was doing. If it’s your first time to the island and/or you’re not into exercising late at night, highly recommend a car. I was by myself and this place was PERFECT, only next time I’d heed Michelle’s advice and get a car:)
This was our first time staying in a “tiny home” and we were not disappointed!! This airstream may be small but it is very practical!! It worked well for two adults. We are boaters; so we are used to being in limited space. The airstream was clean and well appointed: linens, towels, kitchen supplies, fans, tv with great wifi and air conditioning. We only used the air conditioning at night and we opened the windows during the day for the amazing breeze. The view is beautiful and the front porch is spacious… a great way to start or end your day. We had no intentions on cooking during our stay so we were happy to have the mini fridge for leftovers and the microwave for reheating. The bed is full sized; my other half and I fit just fine and I have to share it is SO comfy!! We got some great sleep during our stay. The bathroom/shower is like we have on our boat -simply and easy to use.
Michelle was so kind and helpful. She made sure we were settled in and knew all the operations. She was quick to respond to the few questions we had and offered great Island advice. The unit is in a good location between Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook.
We had a rental car so it made getting up and down the hill easy. Parking is conveniently along the side of the road and the trail to the airstream adds to the experience! We will definitely be back and I highly recommend the accommodations and the host!!!!
We are the first vacation renters of this new property and could not have been more thrilled.
We are active campers and can honestly say this was hands down our best glamping experience. The view of the ocean on the deck with the sunrise coffee time to the sunset wine time were incredible. Michelle was very helpful in getting us settled in and always available if we needed anything.
The Airstream is adorable – it's new, clean and tricked out with all new amenities. Could not be happier with it. It is a 16ft Airstream so it is small “tiny home” style – which we were expecting. What we were not expecting is that it felt much bigger than we thought it would. My husband is 6ft 2 and was able to stand upright and had plenty of headroom.
The bed was comfortable - it is full sized and my husband and I were able to stretch out. My husband is tall but not wide – so we were fine. Would have to say that two large people would have a difficult time – if you want a king sized bed then you should definitely rent a hotel room. I spent several hours reading in bed with a view of the ocean – it was heavenly.
The bathroom/shower is combo boat style. Just fine for our needs. Kitchenette was just that – mini fridge – microwave – burner stove – great for our needs – we had breakfasts and fixings for sandwiches for lunch. We over ordered at restaurants and heated up leftovers in the microwave. There is a grill by the deck which we took advantage of.
Parking is along the road with stairs and short rugged trail leading to the camper.
This is for the adventurous couple and you do need to be able to get around.
We loved it – highly recommend – will be back.
