Sandpiper 216 B is a beautiful studio space offering guests everything they need to feel right at home! With tall ceilings and bright natural light & air conditioning, this cozy unit offers the perfect combination of comfort and function. Featuring a dining area and food prep area equipped with microwave, George Foreman grill, mini fridge and mini freezer. While there is no stove or oven, guests can enjoy BBQ grills just a few steps away near the pool area, perfect for grilling fresh island ingredients. Enjoy your morning coffee on your covered lanai, taking in the sites and sounds of the beautiful garden island!

Perfect for our needs

Cute little condo in a quiet area. Really close to beaches and great location for food as well. Hideaway beach is just down the road. Be aware there are no washing units anywhere nearby! If you must to laundry the closest facility is in Kapaa. Nice pool and hot tub!

Nice place

This place was a great easy accessible spot. Clean and wasn’t too hot at night. The only suggestion we could give is maybe having a fitted sheet on the bed since a top sheet used as a bottom sheet fell off every night when we slept. Other than that it was great. Thank you so much!

Better than the photos!

The condo seems to have benefited from a remodel since the pictures we saw on the internet. It now has a counter with a kitchen sink, a full size refrigerator, and cabinets with dishes, silverware, etc. The condo is small, without grand views, with a walks of at least half a mile to places where you can see the ocean. A short walk to the edge of the golf course brings great views of the mountain. Many wonderful places are within easy driving distance. The condo is clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay.

Location, yes. Sleeping, no.

Hard to beat the location of this apartment, but as advertised there is no A/C and despite the cool air outside overnight, the one fan they provide simply cannot draw that air inside. Add to that, the mattress is miserable. I have a foam mattress at home, but this one is beyond its life. Terrible sleep all week, even after hiking 10+ miles a day. Parking is also a slight issue. And, no laundry facilities.

Biggest issue was the parking

Place is pretty clean. Patio is super dirty and the cooler for the beach was nasty but we washed it and used it. Beach chairs were rusted but that comes with keeping them outside in a wet climate. Biggest problem was parking. You have one assigned spot but it’s shared with the neighbor next to you. There are unmarked spots you can park in, but they fill up by 7:30pm. This rental would be great for someone who wants to be home early. That was not us as we went to 1 Hotel for dinner and drinks nightly. We tried to get a hold of the on island host at 9pm one night when there was no parking and they never responded until the next morning. Giving us mad anxiety that our rental car would be towed since we parked on the grass (which it says is a towable offense).

Stay at Sandpiper studio

The property is very nice. The room itself is small but adequate. Lacking in cooking facility. A hot plate is not a kitchen. Advertized as one but only has refer, sink and small hot plate. Coffee pot was small. Should at least have a 10 or 12 cup coffee maker instead was a 2 cup. Never used the hot plate. Don't run the A/C and the microwave at the same time. Only one breaker for the entire unit and that is located in the next door unit behind a locked closet door. We were preoaring dinner the first night and didn't know this. Tripped the breaker and had to wait a couple of hours to get power back on. Would have rated higher but the cooking arrangement and loss of power created problems.

I’ve been coming to Kauai for decades and I have a good pulse on what we need, don’t need, and will realistically use during our vacation. We scoured the internet for rental options that checked all of my boxes; it’s no easy feat because, as people can imagine, there’s endless options, but that could require settling.That is not the case with this rental. Located in the heart of Princeville, we were surrounded by beauty, walkable neighborhoods and easy access to everything on the North Shore. You cannot beat the location - from the quick drive to Hanalei, to being able to walk to the shopping center where you can find a grocery store, a number of shops and restaurants, and nearby scenic views. The Sandpiper community felt homey and comfortable. We were greeted with the neighborly pleasantries, and you can hear families gather, enjoy their time together, and it was anything but pretentious. Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends or your family, this community is great. Traveling to Kauai with just one friend, we landed on this unit because it checked all of our boxes. We prioritized location, parking, air conditioning and beach items. We spent most of our time outside of the rental, but coming back to somewhere that felt like our home away from home brought more peace to our trip. As far as the in-unit factors go, the AC worked well, however, we did not need it at night. The bed was quite comfortable with supportive pillows (coming from someone with neck problems), the kitchenette was well stocked. Hawaii Life was flexible and communicated often, ensuring that we were happy, asking for feedback that could help future guests. We could not have asked for a better rental agency to work with. We are already discussing when to come back and cannot wait until we do.
