Why they chose this property
Church House stands alone and proud on the southern edge of the village of Skelton, flanked on one side by the castle-like, 700-years-old bell tower of St Michael's Church, and on the other by a dairy farm. As soon as we saw it my wife and I fell in love with it, not least for the incredible views over the Eden Valley from the back garden, and the general sense of peace and quiet.
At various times in its history Church House has been a working farmhouse, a post office, and a family home, and it has adapted with a considerable amount of grace and elegance. Most recently, the House was extended with a new sky-lit dining room and entrance hallway adding a modern touch to its Georgian heritage. We're delighted that our guests now get to sample this wonderful place and make happy memories here with their friends and family.

What makes this property unique
Church House has oodles of space, whether it's the large dining room, spacious kitchen, or the large bedrooms and entrance halls. That makes it great for larger groups and families. Then there's the outside: a large garden and huge driveway set against the backdrop of sprawling countryside give a sense of space that's impossible to find in a city. On a clear night, when sat around the firepit, this feeling is only made more apparent by the incredible starry sky.
Church House is located close enough to the market town of Penrith to make its conveniences very accessible, while also being on the doorstep of Lakeland and the wondrous, dramatic fells and valleys it contains. It really is a magical place.
