Come enjoy "Sunset Escape" Tiny-home on the prestigious Deer Lake in Northern MN. You'll love this unique and romantic escape.

Work ~ Relax ~ Play! Enjoy solitude in nature for a couple's getaway or a fun family trip. The tiny home is a destination location in of itself on Birch Island on Deer Lake.

This tiny home sits on 3+ acre island surrounded by the beautiful blue water. It is located near an occupied cabin but that said, this tiny home is situated to where you don’t see any of those structures from the front facing views of the house, so it feels very private and one with nature.

This modern tiny home has a loft which holds one queen bed and another with two twin beds. The loft is accessed by a normal rise and run staircase. You won't be able to stand in the lofts/bed areas as it is 4'6" (typical of a tiny home) but not really an issue since you really just sit in the beds up there, but important to note if you have any physical ailments.

The tiny home has its own private area, beach and ample free parking. Outside is romantic string-lit, equipped with 4 Adirondack chairs around a wood fire pit, propane BBQ grill, and patio set. Guests have access to their own private beach with 2 paddle boards and a tandem kayak during the summer months.

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to stay in a tiny home well here is your chance! Designed and built in Wisconsin by Escape Traveler.

-Cell service may be weak here, but texting via Wi-Fi works very well, texting via SMS will come in and out as well as signal for calling.

- The house is very much immersed in nature. Nature has bugs and animals. You may see both. There may even be an ant or similar such bug in the house. I promise it won't hurt you.

- Our Insurance Carrier requires guests sign an agreement for release of liability and a $300 security deposit is required.

Can't wait to come back!

This was our second time staying on the island, and it was a wonderful experience. We used the tiny-home as a home base for a fishing adventure all over the beautiful north woods. It is nice to be able to come back to a clean, well kept, private home on the water after a long day of fun. It was nice having a kitchen that was fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. The tiny home had everything we need to have wonderful home-cooked dinners and quick convenient breakfasts. It is great to have a full bathroom and a comfortable couch to relax on. We can't wait to come back next fall!

My family and I stayed here for a lacrosse tournament and it was wonderful. Communication was fast and easy. The property was so cute and neat, very peaceful and nice. The lake was clean and there was a nice canoe and kayak for the kids to use.

Impeccably decorated, spotlessly clean, stocked with everything you could need. Roomie upstairs sleeping quarters with views feels like sleeping in the trees. One of the most beautiful lakes in MN with private beach, magical sunsets, and firepit perfect for s’mores. Highly recommend!! Didn’t want to leave!

Perfect lake escape!!

It was raining during the time we stayed but even then it was very cozy. The lake was absolutely gorgeous in the sun and we did get to enjoy kayaking on the lake. The home had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and I well definitely love to come back!!

Birthday getaway

This is the perfect spot for a cozy autumn getaway! My wife and I spent three nights here and loved everything about it. The cabin is very comfortable, vibey, and has everything we needed. The area is absolutely beautiful and felt private from our cabin, the fire, and the small beach/dock. Lee and Breanna were very responsive and gracious hosts.

PERFECT GETAWAY

Our stay at the tiny-home was AMAZING. The house was very clean, comfortable beds, had all amenities you may need and all in a beautiful setting on the island. We spent our days kayaking and fishing for hours. My favorite was the mornings when you could hear the Loons from across the lake. Definitely plan on coming back again, wish it was our own!

Highly recommend. It's a private little spot. Like having your own island. The host was great and accommodating. The tiny house was clean and like new. We cruised the lake with the provided kayak and paddleboard. Beautiful!

Good things come in small packages!

Sunset escape is a super clean and cute tiny home, situated on an island and a large sparkling lake. This home has everything you'll need for a comfortable stay, including an awesome coffee bar. We were picking up new kayaks in the area and decided to plan a trip to Sunset Escape to break our new kayaks in, over several days. The location is quiet but close to Grand Rapids, MN for restaurants, shopping and activities. Very nice experience! Thank you, Breanna, for your wonderful communication and hospitality.

Such a great getaway

Our family of 4 (2 kids, 6 and 8) had such a great time “camping” at this tiny home. The tiny home itself is designed with style and feels spacious enough to be comfortable …. the outdoor space is awesome. Deer lake is teal and so quiet. Simply beautiful. The kids loved building forts and fairy gardens in the woods in between kayaking, fishing and paddle boarding. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this place was for a memorable (and comfortable) experience in the outdoors!

Beautiful hideaway

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. Perfect spot in Minnesota on Deer Lake. Beautiful area, the private beach was wonderful, the water was so clear and fun to kayak. Overall we enjoyed the Tiny Home and were thankful it had all the amenities to make the stay comfortable. The home is very well built with beautiful wood interior. The Queen size bed upstairs was amazing, slept really good on it. I would definitely stay here again and would love to see it deeper in the autumn months. A big thanks to the owner who responded to us quickly and left lights on for our late arrival.

Cozy and comfy stay in nature

We enjoyed our stay in Breanna’s tiny home on Birch Island. It was perfectly clean, beautifully decorated and absolutely everything a guest could need was provided. We used the fire pit (wood and starter provided) and the nice gas grill. Wifi and tv worked well. It was fun to experience a tiny home for the first time…this one was quite spacious. Just a few steps through the woods is Deer Lake…crystal clear. Relax in the chairs and listen to the sounds of nature. We heard the occasional loon. You can sense Breanna’s passion for hosting guests in this lovely home.

Excellent getaway

The place is tiny, as advertised, but it was perfect for my wife and me. It was pristine when we arrived; it felt like we were the first to stay in it. There was plenty of room for the two of us, but a family of 4 might be cramped. There are no interior walls or doors, except for the bathroom, so it's really one large, two story room. The lake and setting couldn't have been better. You're secluded off the main body of the lake, so it feels quite private but with just enough activity on the lake to keep it interesting. Really great overall. You won't be disappointed.

A Little Slice of Heaven

Within minutes of arriving our ten year old son exclaimed, “Best trip ever!” My husband and I share in his sentiment. Breanna carefully thought of everything a guest could ever want while staying in their tiny house and was immaculate to boot. The outside is invited inside by the beautifully large windows. Deer lake is quite easily the most stunning lake I have ever seen and the surrounding seemingly larger than life trees are magical. We spent our days paddle boarding, kayaking, reading, swimming, playing games, cooking, watching movies, admiring the breathtaking sunsets, roasting marshmallows over the outdoor fire pit, listening to our favorite tunes on Alexa, and most importantly enjoying each other’s company. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy the simple pleasures of life together, for your wonderful hospitality, and for introducing us to the gorgeous gem that Northern Minnesota is. We would love to come back someday!
