Connects to Table Rock/Mountain View/Gigabit Wi-Fi/Covered Parking/Private Trail
Most “Table Rock retreats” are miles from the park. This one is right next to it, with private trail access that begins on the property and connects directly into the park.
Step outside and you are immediately connected to miles of hiking, waterfalls, forest, lake access and overlooks without driving, parking or navigating crowds.
It is a rare Table Rock stay: quiet, private, and deeply connected to the park itself.
THE SPACE
This historic park ranger cottage sits on two private acres at the edge of Table Rock State Park. You have the entire home and outdoor space to yourself, with a setting that feels calm and tucked away once you arrive.
From just outside the front door, the trail leads directly into the park’s trail system. Guests regularly hike to waterfalls, the lake and overlooks without ever getting in the car. Many mention that once they arrive, they rarely feel the need to leave.
After a day outdoors, the pace naturally slows. Relax in the professionally maintained hot tub on the lower deck, unwind by the fire pit under the stars, or grill dinner in the secret garden. Inside, the cottage blends rustic character with modern comfort. It is intentionally simple, clean, functional and well equipped for guests who want to spend time outside and relax afterward.

We had a great cousins’ night here! We went hiking to the lake, enjoyed a bonfire and the backyard swing, made dinner, played games, and warmed up in the hot tub. Eating breakfast with a huge view of Table Rock was magical. The hosts are responsive and have thought of the little things! It was clean. The lake with a beautiful view is about a 20-minute hike from the cabin.
Great quiet property/getaway in nature! Host was super accessible and helpful. Loved having free pass to Table Rock State Park and the trail to the park right by the house. Host has 2 backpacks you can use for hikes which was great because we forgot ours :)
The owner was very good at making sure everything was good. View was great . Great hiking trail. Tons of hospitality with extras like coffee to snacks.
We had a wonderful time at the Cottage. The property is meticulously maintained, thoughtfully stocked and an awesome location. Our family enjoyed the games, daytime hikes and views. The trail to Table Rock state park right from the house was a great bonus. We can’t wait to get back again soon! Thanks again for sharing your slice of paradise with our family.
This beautiful, clean home offers a lovely view of Table Rock. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything necessary for preparing dinners. The pre-chopped wood for the fire pit was a wonderful convenience. We were able to access the Pinnacle Lake Trail directly from the house, and it was a beautiful walk to the lake. The complimentary state park pass proved to be quite useful, and we also enjoyed a visit to the very beautiful Jones Gap State Park. We certainly plan to rent this property again.
The mountain views were beautiful and the home was meticulously clean and tastefully decorated! Having the hiking trail next to the home was wonderful. We will definitely visit again.

So glad you enjoyed the view of Pinnacle Mountain and the hiking trail!
We loved staying here! It was so quiet. The house was very lovely, with a mid century modern vibe. Very clean and well appointed.
The bed we slept in was very comfortable and the bathroom was perfect. We would definitely stay again.
Beautiful property and location is central to many things to do. In addition to Table Rock, we were able to visit Campbell's Covered Bridge; Poinsett Bridge; Pretty Place; Caesar's Head; Stumphouse Tunnel; and many waterfalls. We also visited Highland, NC and went tubing in Asheville, NC. We would definitely stay again.

Thanks for the wonderful review Alison. I'm so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay and got to check out all the great nearby attractions. Looking forward to your next visit with us!
What an amazing view at the end of the private path….Very relaxing stay & location was perfect. The living room furniture was the only complaint we had, sits very low & we didn’t find it comfortable at all, but if you don’t plan to be indoors much this shouldn’t be an issue. There is a light fixture in hallway that taller people will hit their heads on, we removed globes during our stay so they wouldn’t get broken.

We’re glad you enjoyed the views, private trail, and relaxing atmosphere, those are what make The Cottage @ Table Rock so special. We take pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable space, and we’re happy you found the setting perfect for a peaceful stay.
Lovely yard greeted us, down a long wooded drive. Pretty and clean interiors with all amenities you will need, including Park pass entrance. 2 minutes to both park gates, and hiking trail on premise. Kitchen stocked with everything you will need sans main groceries. Lovely stay, with great hosts. Thank you
This cabin is located at the edge of Table Rock State Park with a trail leading from the cabin directly into the park. Glorious views from the deck and living areas! Enjoyed the grill and fire pit also. Inside, the cabin is clean and welcoming. Wish we could have stayed longer.
The Cottage exceeded all of our expectations. Owners were so nice and responsive. The house was clean with all the bells and whistle's. We enjoyed hiking, fishing, and swimming which are all things that are experienced on the property. It was a perfect stress-free family getaway. It’s going to be hard to stay anywhere else!
It was so wonderful with a Beautiful View. There was so much to do! We had moments or relaxation, hiking, shopping , and amazing food. Would love to go back when the leaves are changing! We will definitely be visiting again! ***** 5 Stars *****

Thanks so much for the kinds words Elizabeth. Glad you got to enjoy everything that the area has to offer. We look forward to hosting you again soon!
Excellent place! View from the porch is awesome. Connection to state park was great. Just walk right in. Comfy beds and well appointed kitchen. Minor niggle is the light fixture at bottom of stairs - it’s low if you are over 6’-1”, so watch your head if you are. Would stay here again.
We stayed at this wonderful property to get out of town for a few days for our anniversary. As soon as we pulled into the drive, we could feel our stress melting away. Perfect location for peace, quiet and solitude but also well located for excursions. We hiked from the trail on the property all the way to the top of Table Rock, about a 10 mile round trip. The hike was amazing. The property has high speed Internet service available and well thought out furnishings and amenities. We are already planning our next getaway and this will be a permanent addition to our favorite places to stay with VRBO.

"This will be a permanent addition to our favorite places to stay with VRBO." Thanks for the kind words Christopher, we look forward to welcoming you back soon!
A perfectly located cabin in the woods with a private trail to the lake. We were attending a wedding at the Gaines Lodge and it is less than five minutes away! We definitely regret not having more time to explore. It is obvious that the host strives to make everything convenient.
Our family had a wonderful stay at this Pickens cottage. The location is ideal for hiking Table Rock State Park, with direct access to the main trail—no need to drive or pay entrance fees. The cottage is comfortable, well-equipped, and offers thoughtful amenities like various coffee makers, phone chargers, maps, and even an EV charger. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the back deck with a charcuterie board, admiring the view of Pinnacle Mountain, and gathering around the fire pit in the evenings (firewood is provided, but bringing a fire starter is helpful). The beds upstairs are very comfortable; I can't comment on the twin beds downstairs. After a day of hiking, grilling steaks and soaking in the hot tub were perfect ways to unwind. The setting is peaceful and relaxing, with easy access to multiple hiking trails. We visited in the fall, so watch for leaves covering the paths. Our only wish was for a longer stay—we highly recommend this cottage for a restful getaway near Table Rock State Park.
Thanks so much for all the work you put into this home. The proximity to the nature trail, the fire pit, and the view of Table Rock from the front porch was magnificent. The inside of the home was stylish, comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed. My only small complaint are the roaches in the kitchen. Thanks very much!

Thank you for the thoughtful review Lissie. I'm so happy you were able to experience all that the cottage has to offer. We have alerted our pest control company and they have assured me they will be taking care of the issue immediately. I'm glad you and your family enjoyed your stay!
This place had it all. It was peaceful and had views of Table Rock right from the porch. We loved that you could hike right into the park from the house. There were so many beautiful waterfalls, lakes and hiking trails of various difficulties. When we needed a break from hiking we had so many activities to enjoy at the house from the ring toss game, big jenga and corn hole to various board games. We loved that we didn't need to worry about brining a lot of things like tissues, salt and pepper, etc. because the owner provides all of that stuff for you. This VRBO is well maintained and loved. The owner is very communicative and goes above and beyond to ensure you will enjoy your stay. Thank you!
