About this property
Are you looking for old Florida.? Lower heart rate? No high rises/ traffic?
This Florida style home is for guests who want to relax and unwind. It is located on a quiet street and the refreshing back yard borders a beautiful mango orchard. Freshly remodeled in a classic style with calming decor, cozy back porch and a large back yard. Close to the marina and within walking distance from Jug Creek Marina which has a restaurant, boat tours, fishing charters, and a seafood market. The next street has a reasonably priced kayak rental business and a boat ramp. The next door neighbor, Alex Coomer, is a boat captain and takes 1/2 day sightseeing and fishing trips. He always seems to catch fish! There is a nice Weber Grill right outside the back porch to cook your freshly caught (or bought ) dinner.
A highlight of Bokeelia....the one fin dolphin named UNO or Sunshine can many times be seen at a local dock and in a local waterway and is quite chattie and flirtacious. Hang your feet over the dock and see what happens. Time well spend indeed!
Two comfortable bicycles are provided with the rental.
Fly into Fort Myers or Punta Gorda for closest airports, which are about 1 hour away. Car rental a must unless you want to ride our bikes everywhere!
Sanibel about 1 hour and 20 minutes by car away, and Captiva is another 20 minutes on top of that. You could also op for a ferry ride to these islands in addition to Gaspirilla,, Boca Grande, Cabbage Key and others. Caya Costa, usually a highlight, is closed for repairs due to Hurricane Ian. The Tropic Star ferry regularly makes trips to outer islands. Tarpon Lodge, a historic inn in Pineland, approx a 15 minute drive, has live music and great food for a special treat!
Bokeelia is located on Pine Island, which has fresh fruit stands, food trucks, several restaurants, a few grocery stores, a pharmacy, gas station, thrift stores, a barber, library, tennis courts, community pool, and a golf course. If you want to stay out of the rat race then drive here and don' t leave!

About the host
Hosted by Jane Wollfe

Glenn and Jane are professionals who travel the world when not working. They own a house in Sedona Arizona and a few on Chincoteague Island, Virginia. Recently they bought this house in Bokeelia from Jane's daughter who moved to Hawaii. Jane fell in love with the slow pace of Bokeelia and since she is not retired, decided to share it with others, especially her good friend Gail who is an interior designer and spent summer weeks visiting relatives in Bokeelia as a kid. The whole team, including friends and family of Glenn, Jane and Gail appreciate a well decorated home and spent numerous hours bringing this home back to life! Here's to relaxing and enjoying a stay at the "Mango View Hideaway!"
