Communication was outstanding as was the l9cation . The kitchen was first rate. The only complaint that I heard from family members who stayed there were the mattresses , especially the bunk bed ones. Overall it was a great experience. Thanks so much. Btw, my grandkids (17 and 11) are convinced that there is an active ghost, particularly on the first floor. Any insights? They both reported a woman who was "kind, and bored." Any insights?
I stayed here with another family and some young ladies from our AAU basketball team. We were playing at a tournament in Hamilton OH (Spooky Nook). This location allowed us to enjoy the city while also having easy access to Spooky Nook - it was about a 40 minute drive BUT we did not have to go on Interstate 75. The owners were great in communicating and in allowing early check in after a long drive. WIFI had its issues but I don’t blame the owners - I think it was a provider issue. The Northside community is cute and the house is within walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants. The property is older but you get exactly what you see online. It was a good choice for our group.
The communication with hosts was excellent and they checked in daily to make sure all was well. This is a roomy and well kept property. The kitchen is well stocked with 2 different coffee makers, coffee, sugar and powdered creamer which will do in a pinch (until you get to the grocery to get "real" cream), Three very roomy bedrooms with plenty of room to spread out. The laundry is on the main floor (big plus in these old houses). Defininitely a nice place.
Great location and charming house. Lots of old world character plus beautiful updated kitchen and decor. Loved the fenced in backyard for our small dog. Comfy beds!
It's an older house, so expect squeaky floors and bedroom doors that are hard to close quietly. Most of the house has been nicely update though, so no problems with the kitchen, bathroom, plumbing, etc. All-in-all, it was much nicer than I expected. Great value for the price.
Host was very proactive in messaging. I had no concerns, but if I had I'm sure the host would have been very responsive.
Pros - Conveniently located to many things like food, drinks and a strip of nightlife. Property was very much as represented in description and as pictured. All the beds were comfortable. I hosted the trip and slept in a double and the memory foam mattress were HEAVEN! There were throws in all bedrooms and in living area which made snuggling for conversation downstairs pleasant. The AC worked very well once lowered to cool the bedrooms the first night. We all know heat rises. Top of the line remote fixtures for the lights and ceiling fan were nice.
Cons - 1st impression walking up to door missing the entire glass was an eyesore. Though there were plenty of towels and wash cloths they simply need replacing or bring your own as some of my guests did from habit. (I started to buy some bleach to leave but replacement is the true answer).
Also dust was around the baseboards in living room area.
Lights and fans sometimes would stop. We don't know if that was user error (it appears some type of timer was on remote) or if systems were being operated remotely which was a little scary.
