Great property!!

Beautiful house! Perfectly appointed and fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Beds super comfortable!! Towels clean and lush! Shower and tub - delightful surprise. Couch super comfortable - as I said- exactly as advertised and super safe and comfortable!! The town is so cute but very very small! And quiet - full of the nicest people! Blackwater grill just down the street was delish- if a little expensive. Staff and food was delish!!

Charming, Peaceful Cottage

I really enjoyed my stay at the cottage in Yankeetown. I did some kayak fishing in the morning, and in the afternoon I hung out in the cottage doing some writing and guitar strumming. It was perfect for it. I hope to come back and stay again.

A pause in time

We came to Florida for a vacation from Ohio winter, and what we got was an escape from the modern world. Yankeetown seems to be stuck in a bygone era and this delightful little cottage maintains that sensation inside and out. The peaceful feel of "Old Florida" is preserved in Yankeetown, from the quaint depression era cottages, to the moss draped trees that canopy the quiet roadways throughout the community. It provided a perfect place for bike rides, a walk along the river, or even a special evening out at the Black Water Restaurant, which is conveniently tucked away in the heart of the town. Daybook Cottage had no problem meeting and exceeding our expectations. It was perfect in every way; sunny, clean, safe and comfortable. The owners were so accommodating and friendly, and available whenever we needed them, which was not often. It felt like home from the moment we stepped in and if the "stop time" switch in the bedroom had actually worked, the ritual and responsibilities of our regular life would still be awaiting us in Ohio! Great memories were made and we look forward to a return visit one day. Highly recommend Daybook Cottage!

Why they chose this property

Our family has been traveling to this area for many years and has grown to love the charm of this area. The Withlacoochee River is a special place that we enjoy year around. It is an undiscovered gem that allows us to fish, kayak, dine, and ride bikes without worrying about fighting the crowds. I have loved this particular house since the day I first visited Yankeetown and always said I would buy it and renovate it if it ever went on the market. Well, we are all in luck. It became available and I quickly went to work bringing it back to life. Now, we look forward to every day we are lucky enough to be there.

What makes this property unique

I fell in love with this house when it was in its original shade of pink. It has undergone several coats of paint and owners and is still a standout. The window-lined sunroom sits right in the front of the house and is the perfect spot to sit with a cup of coffee each morning or a refreshing drink in the afternoon sun. We were able to retain many of the original windows and doors which gives this cottage such a cozy atmosphere. It is simple yet complete and is the perfect place to unwind.
