About this property
8BR/5BA in Chalet Village - Convenient to Everything!
Bear Track Lodge (1369 South Baden Drive, Gatlinburg, TN) is an 8 bedroom, 5 bath chalet at 3,000 feet on Ski Mountain in Gatlinburg's Chalet Village. This convenient location just off Ski Mountain Road is 3.0 miles down the mountain to shopping, dining and attractions in downtown Gatlinburg and 0.5 miles up to Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort, an all season resort. The chalet is within walking distance to Chalet Village Owner's Club which offers guest privileges to the large swimming pool, tennis courts and game room (closed in winter). The Owner's Club is also a staging point for the available 5 minute shuttle ride to Ober Gatlinburg for downhill skiing, snow tubing and ice skating in winter months when parking at the resort is at a premium.
The chalet's 'roundabout' style is great for group gatherings with a large stone wood burning fireplace being the focal point in the center of the main level. The living area around the fireplace includes a 52 inch TV, sofa, 3 reclining chairs and 5 theater-style chairs on a raised platform for lots of available seating. Also on the main level is a full kitchen, dining area (table with seating for 12), bar (seating for 4), pool table, 1 bedroom (King) and 1.5 baths. The bedroom has a 32" flat screen TV. The kitchen has stainless appliances, a large pantry and 2 full size refrigerator/freezers with through the door water and ice for plenty of food storage for your large group. Ground floor parking just a few steps away makes for easy in and out to the chalet.
Upstairs is a total of 7 bedrooms, comprised of 3 kings, 3 queens and 1 bedroom with two twin beds with washer/dryer closet, in addition to 4 baths. Each upstairs bedroom has a 32 inch flat screen TV. All upstairs bedrooms, except the twin bedroom, have access to the wraparound deck. One of the bathrooms is private, while the remaining others are each shared between two bedrooms with separate access for privacy ("Jack and Jill" style).
The chalet is fully furnished with bath and bed linens and utensils, in addition to starter packs of dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent and soap/shampoo/conditioner. Outside on ground level is a six person hot tub, oversize picnic table, rocking chairs, charcoal grill and large supply of firewood. The upstairs deck is expansive, has a number of rocking chairs, and can be accessed directly from 6 of the 7 upstairs bedrooms. Central heat and air, high capacity water heater, high speed internet, wireless internet, cable and landline phone service ensure a comfortable and convenient stay. There is ample parking for 5-6 vehicles, and with two connecting driveways providing access to separate streets, fewer in and out hassles than usual with multiple cars and large groups. The chalet has a mountain/wooded view in an area of mature trees. We are five minutes away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, 5-10 minutes from Gatlinburg, and 15-20 minutes from Pigeon Forge.
We are pet friendly, and may charge an additional fee in certain circumstances. No smoking is allowed inside the chalet.

About the host
Your host

We live in Knoxville, 45 minutes away and make frequent trips to enjoy the cabin and ensure maintenance and cleaning are up to standard.
Why they chose this property
As natives of East Tennessee, our family has made countless trips to the Smokies, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge over the years. When we were finally in a position to purchase an investment property that we would also hopefully be able to use occassionally, the choice was easy. There's something for everyone, and with a full four seasons the scenery is everchanging and always beautiful.
What makes this property unique
Although we are only 45 minutes away, taking the day trip aspect out of the picture and staying overnight is so much more relaxing, and always an adventure with our kids. The downstairs living area promotes family gathering, and we always enjoy the center fireplace and large kitchen table. We've also found the location makes for a great way to have reunions with old friends now living out of town. The central location of the cabin is ideal, and we are literally minutes away from all the area has to offer.
