Picture this: I’m outside a Boston Vrbo, hyped for a Red Sox game, ready to punch in my custom door code like a heist movie hero. I’d been texting the property manager for days, feeling like a VIP. Code fails. I check the app. Plot twist—the manager says, “You don’t have a reservation.” Excuse me? I’m at the door, luggage in hand, Fenway dreams alive, and I’m a ghost in their system?I flash my reservation number faster than you can say “strike three.” The manager admits their error with a verbal shrug—no apology, no fix. My flight was already two hours late, but I’d planned enough wiggle room for the game. Or so I thought. The kicker? The property was closed for renovations. Yep, the place with those cozy New England photos was under construction. Surprise!Cue a frantic hunt for last-minute lodging. The prices? “Sell your kidney” expensive. My spouse, daughter, and bonus son, who drove three hours, faced the prospect of camping on Boston Common. I called Vrbo, but 15 minutes of hold music—a funeral dirge for my vacation—forced me to rush to the game, faking a smile. This listing isn’t cursed, but its reviews are a mixed bag. I should’ve picked the less glossy, more reliable spot. I never saw if the interior matched those photos (I’m skeptical). I hope the owner takes a reservation management course and slaps up a “closed” sign. Until then, avoid this chaos unless you love lodging roulette. Here’s to sparing others this mess!
Let me start off by saying this place is 100% a scam. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT book here. I had the worst rental experience of my life and am an avid traveler. To start off, the property is in an unsafe neighborhood. We woke up one day to find someone smoking crack leaning on our car in the provided parking area. As for the property itself, we experienced endless issues but here are the biggest ones:
- The property is not at all maintained. We arrived to holes in the walls, fixtures barley hanging on by a thread, fire sprinklers TAPED to the ceiling, the list goes on.
- It was clear this property was not cleaned prior to our arrival and was absolutely UNSANITARY. The floors were dirty, bedding was stained and there were MULTIPLE very large clumps of hair found throughout from the bedroom, floors, and in the shower. Do you like to shower without a towel? If so book here because they didn’t provide enough for the amount of people we booked and the ones they did provide were dirty.
- Upon arrival we noticed the downstairs was significantly damp and water was coming up through the flooring. This only got worse when it rained and the downstairs was completely flooded and our belongings were soaked.
The only thing worse then this place itself was the communication with the host! He lacked empathy and was unresponsive to our outreaches. The only thing he addressed was sending more towels, only after multiple requests, and ignored all the other concerns.

If her story appears too unbelievable, it's likely as fabricated as payback for her initial attempt to secure a discount and avoid fees, even before checking in. Upon checking in, she promptly invented an issue without any evidence or photos, but curiously produced pictures the following day. She also booked for 4 people and 8 people checked in which is a 2 bedroom and demanded towels as if she was scheduled to have 8 people in a 2 bed unit. Beware of this renter she is a complete nightmare and will take advantage off anything she can.
