My son (a prospective college student) and I took a tour at VCU. This was perfect! Within walking distance to the university as well as dining. I love the way this home was decorated and it accommodated all of our needs.
What an excellent stay we had! We were traveling with our two kids and two dogs and had plenty of room. The property has the perfect location with tons of walkable options for food. The space is clean and has everything you would need for your stay. Great communication from the host. The private parking in the back is great and there’s an adorable back patio with a separate entrance to the unit. We highly recommend staying here for any trips to VCU or the nearby areas.

The hosts were very responsive and clearly this business is important to them. And there is another unit (# 1 to rent) downstairs so there are at least 2 properties in their portfolio. Unfortunately I’m quite unhappy with what I received in terms of a rental property for my vacation. I envisioned being able to cook/host my daughter and son-in-law for dinner at least once this past week but given the conditions I was given, I would never do it. The upkeep on the property is poor. I’ll just leave it at that. The minimum standard for any rental should include fresh painted walls, fresh bathroom and kitchen fixtures/surfaces etc., and pretty much everything here is at least 15-20 years old, and I’m being kind. Given my experience and cost for rental not matching value, I’m asking for a partial refund. I think 33% is fair. The place can certainly be classified as a dump. Cracks and stains everywhere. Peeled paint, dry wall repairs everywhere with no paint. It’s a total contradiction. Owners who are attentive to the renter relationship but doing virtually nothing for upkeep. The sheets were old, bedspread old (and a bit smelly). Honestly gross. I have 15 or so pictures to attach to show the conditions, but I don’t know how to upload them.
This is conveniently located to several tourist sights and the university. The host communicates promptly and is very thoughtful. We would definitely stay here again.
Gave the kids a good sense of what back east living is like in brick buildings. Floor was dirty, shower was tiny. Glad we only stayed for two brief nights. It was a decent place to stay but the photos made it seem much nicer.
Love this property. It’s the fourth time we’ve stayed here while visiting our son at VCU. The apartment is clean, spacious and well-equipped with everything you need for a weekend or overnight stay. The location is perfect for visiting VCU, but also walking distance to lots of great restaurants and coffee shops.
