While it feels like you are in the forest, the location is very central and within walking distance of pools, parks, and shopping. It is ideal for families, fishing enthusiasts, couples, etc.
The cabin features the latest in modern conveniences while maintaining a classic 'cabin' feel. Lovely cabin in Burney, feels like you are alone in the woods but you are super conveniently located to everything you need! Primary bed was extremely comfortable, comfy furniture, equipped kitchen.
Excellent experience! We stayed 2 nights during a business trip in Burney. The cabin in the woods is very comfortable, quiet and close to town. Look forward to our next visit!

cabin in woods?
Cabin is lovely, clean, well stocked and nicely furnished although the location on the backside of the high school sports field leaves the "cabin in the woods" description with something to be desired. Especially after hearing the sprinklers run all evening.

The cabin is located among the trees on 10 wooded acres and down a long driveway. While the high school sports field is adjacent to our property line, it is a good distance away. We feel our location has the advantage of a woodsy remote feel, while still being only a short walk to the center of town. We feel we offer the "cabin in the woods feel" and the convenience of being close to town.

Lovely Winter Getaway
Our family of 5 had a wonderful four days here. The cabin is very cozy and and well equipped. We spent time in nearby Redding, but also enjoyed exploring the area (hiking Burney Falls!) and getting some sledding in close by Lassen. Although the property is located in town (making a last-minute trip to Safeway very convenient), it feels very secluded, tucked away off a side road in a rustic wood. The house itself is so welcoming that we also spent many hours sitting by the fire playing board games and reading. An evening snowfall made it picture perfect!

So glad your family enjoyed your stay! The snow fall on your last day seemed a perfect ending for you. We would love to have you back again -- try coming in the summer for a new experience. Lots of great outdoor activities at that time of year.

Memorial Weekend -Great Stay
We stayed in this beautiful home in the woods with our kids.
Very clean and nice and spacious. Kids had a really good time at this property surrounded by beautiful trees (pine, cedar etc). A lot of bike riding. Not far from Burney Falls and other great fishing lakes. Will definitely consider this property for future.
The only drawback is that, there is no washer and dryer at this property.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. It sounds as if you took advantage of all the wonderful outdoor activities and adventures nearby- Burney Falls, Larsen Natl Park and nature hikes in a beautiful setting. Most of the stays at our property are 3 to 4 days so laundry facilities onsite are not essential. There is a nearby laundromat for emergencies. We would love to have you back again!

FANTASTIC!!! I'll be back for another stay.
Our stay: Memorial Weekend 2016
For starters, the comminication with the owner was outstanding. Super fast response, very nice directions and recommendations.
Our family had such a wonderful time. The cabin is very close to the main drag with easy access to restaurants and Safeway grocery store, yet tucked away in a quite and private area. Burney falls was no more than 10 minutes away and made for a nice day trip, hike and picnic.
The cabin offered great parking, plenty of space, comfortable beds, beautiful wood floors...it was a great vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Nice and quiet. Well appointed. Clean.
I took my family to this area because my parents had explored here when I was a child. We really enjoyed our time here. The house has all that you need for a relaxing stay. Nice comfortable setting. If there was one negative for us it was the seating in the family room. The seating is not 'loungey?' ( is that a word?:). There were just three of us and we could not sit lazily by the fire or tv. When we travel we do like to take time to just veg a few days. A deeper sofa and maybe a sectional that would go from the fireplace to the front door would really complete this hideaway. If that happens we would definitely book this property again, and refer others to this gem. Thanks for a great stay.

Thanks for your review. We're glad you had a good time and that you enjoyed showing your family the Burney that you remember from years ago. We appreciate your comments about the seating arrangement in the family room. We have been considering adding another larger sofa to the room for some time, and now we are motivated to do so! We hope you will come back again to see the changes!

Great getaway!
My husband and I stayed here for almost a week in August, and were delighted with this charming cabin in its woodsy setting! The cabin is almost new and very nicely designed, decorated and furnished. Since there were just 2 of us, we only used the downstairs and it was just the right amount of space for us. (There is also a loft bedroom and bathroom upstairs, and a little apartment out in the garage). The kitchen is well equipped with all modern appliances and everything you might need. The flat screen TV and reliable wifi were a real plus. You feel as if you're out in the woods, but it is only a short walk or drive to the grocery store and downtown Burney. We had daily visits from squirrels, birds and a young buck (deer). Burney Falls is a must see, only a short drive away. And for a longer excursion, Lassen National Park has many wonders. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Thank you for a great stay!

Glad you enjoyed your stay with us! We had heard that a young deer had taken up residence near the cabin, and I'm glad you got to see him! We love sharing our home with visitors, and we especially enjoy it when guests take in all that the Burney area and Lassen National Park have to offer. It is truly a hidden gem vacation destination. Hope you can join us again sometime!
Once again our group had a wonderful time at Burney. The house again was perfect. Best location and stocked with everything we needed.
Thanks again Dottie
Great location! It’s very close to Burney Falls, restaurants, Safeway, etc. The cabin is clean and comfortable. It has everything we need. The instructions from owner are very clear and easy to follow. We didn’t even need to contact the owner for anything. No issues during our stay.
Great location and wonderfully well appointed cabin. Feels very remote yet within close proximity to grocery store and food. Great jumping off spot for all there is to see in the area. Would definitely return here.
My family and I stayed here over the President's Day holiday to visit Burney Falls and the Shasta area. The cabin was well stocked and homey, and it was VERY close to Safeway and Grocery Outlet which allowed us to pick up supplies as needed. I loved how it was in the middle of the woods but also very close to the town itself. The listing said 4 bedrooms, which is accurate, one of them was in a separate guest house, we either missed that or it wasn't shown prominently. One recommendation we had was to add a laundry machine. Overall though, great cabin. We had a lot of fun!
Stone Cabin is the best place to stay in Burney. Walking distance to town while amongst the trees. Minutes from fishing.
Everything you need for your stay.
Wonderful host
It was our first time to use Vrbo and the place we stayed at did not disappoint. The house was at the end of a dirt road which was lined by trees. The place was very clean and welcoming. A family 7 easily fit in the house. The amenities were good and being away from the hustle and bustle of the city was good. The place certainly very calming to the soul.
The host was great to work with and understanding. I would come back to this place.
Overall we were pleased with the property. We stayed for four nights in Burney which made for a good jumping off point to visit Burney Falls, Lassen SNP, and some fishing in Hat Creek. The property is private, sitting in the woods, but really close to everything in town like stores and restaurants.
The property is comprised of the main house and a room off the garage. The main house is very nicely appointed. Beds were comfortable and the showers were nice. The space is small but really well done. While we wanted to use the room off the garage, it was hot during our visit and that room doesn’t have AC. Plus there seemed to be more bugs in there (spiders) than the main house, do we ended up not using it. It would be nice if that room could be brought up to the level of the main house; that would have made this property a complete win.
The cabin is in a lovely forested setting close to town, but still very quiet and private. Easy access to Burney, McCloud Falls and Lassen NP. This is our second visit here and we’d love to come back!!
This cabin was a cozy little spot to spend time in and a great spot for the kids to wander. We saw a mule deer from the porch one night and a woodpecker another day, as well as a number of butterflies.
