Great spot for our family to spend time at together. Very spacious, plenty of spaces to break out to. We had all ages and everyone enjoyed it. The lake is beautiful, such clear water. Gathering around the bon fire, playing pool, hanging out in the deck. Absolutely loved it and want to return again.
This is our second stay on BBL and we all enjoyed it. The new owners were great to deal with and the improvements they’ve made so far have been great. Lots of steps to the lake, but now we’re all in shape! Thanks for a great time!
5 Stars – Highly Recommended! We had a fantastic stay at Big Birch Lake! The cabin was exceptionally clean, well-stocked, and offered great amenities that made our stay easy and enjoyable. The lake was clear and beautiful, perfect for swimming, relaxing, and boating. Fishing was a highlight—we caught plenty of bass and panfish right off the dock and out on the water. The location was super convenient, yet we still felt like we had plenty of privacy. The neighbor was friendly and respectful, adding to the overall positive experience. Host was extremely responsive and a great communicator. This is a great spot for both families and serious anglers. We would very highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!
Fantastic service and great, clean lake home with multiple fireplaces and fire-pits. Worked really well for our family group. Owner was very responsive to an internet issue from the carrier. Worked well for the rest of the trip. Great sunrise view.
This is a nice spacious home. We had a big group and plenty of space. The kids loved running in circles around the house. Kayaking and fishing were some of our favorite activities. The pool table was a bonus and the large deck. The kitchen is also nice and large.
The shoreline had quite a bit of seaweed during our stay, so it was difficult for little ones to swim, but we were able to swim out further. Beds are also average, not the best for the back if you're older :) Really overall it was a wonderful place to stay though!
We enjoyed our stay at your lake house. Great place for family to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
The deck off the kitchen was great for eating outside. Adults enjoyed the kayaks. We enjoyed having a bonfire and roasting marshmallows. Kids liked jumping off the dock. There was plenty of towels for the beach and showers. The toys for kids was helpful for entertainment for the kids when inside.
My son wanted to watch the presidential convention but was not able to get the TV to work. Maybe give directions for TV in the binder with other information.
It would be wonderful to have one of the garage cans marked for recycling. We were not sure if there was recycling.
Thank you for the use of a wonderful vacation home.

Thank you for the review! Our Internet is really bad and sometimes unplugging the router helps. Sorry for that inconvenience. I will add this to our trouble shooting page, thank you for this suggestion. Glad you had a wonderful time! 😊
We had a great time at this cabin on Big Birch Lake. It was clean and had great views. Nice private and quiet property. The dock was in good condition and accommodated our boat. There were a couple of things we were disappointed in. A washer and dryer are advertised, however when you read the welcome documents they state the washer and dryer are for emergency use only. We have young kids so part of renting a home/VRBO is for use of things like that.We specifically asked about the ability for the kids to swim off the dock and how weedy it was. We were told that the owners weed around the dock and past the dock there were weeds, which is fine. When we got there it was weedy all over to the point the kids did not want to swim off the dock. We understand conditions change throughout the year but it appeared nothing was being done to control around the dock.We could not find any lids for the pots or pans, which made some cooking a little tricky and the outside grill could be updatedLastly the outdoor furniture could use updating. We could not find the correct cushions for metal chairs (may have been our issue) and we did not feel comfortable using the wood furniture as they seemed like they could easily break due to age/condition. A few chairs were already broken and/or missing pieces. The wrap around deck also had boards that were broken, rotted or missing pieces. In our opinion we think this property is a good stay and would consider going back, but probably overpriced.
We gathered here with our adult children, their girlfriends and some extended family. This property had 4 bedrooms and a lot of space to play yard games or enjoy the lake front. It had a nice new dock for tying our boat up to and we enjoyed several days of good fishing (bass and pan fish) ( landing was also very convenient). Loved the large deck to enjoy outdoor dining or just conversing around the firepit. The host also had cornhole toss and we brought KUBB and bocce so lots of space to do all those outdoor games. The nearby state forest provided some good hiking and each night there was a nice big table for dinners together, game playing and lots of laughter. They also had 2 kayaks and we brought 2, so it was in a nice bay and allowed for some wonderful kayaking. The home was very clean, well maintained, well stocked (had everything we needed). It was only an hour + from the twin cities so it made it easy for my mother-in-law to drive up on her own. Nobody in our party had trouble with this, but note there are lots of steps down to the lake. Also because it is an area where folks have their permanent residence it was noisier during the week with lawnmower noise, tree trimming, neighbors motorcycles and chainsawing, so just know this in case you are looking for more isolation. Loved the location, loved the lake, loved the space for family time. We will be back! Thank you for sharing your property!!
