Get Away in your Truck or SUV to the Scenic and Secluded Whispering Pines Cabin
Kick back and let your worries disappear at the Whispering Pines Cabin. Behind a locked gate, our community is safe. Our secluded cabin is best accessed with a Four-wheel Drive vehicle or at least a vehicle with higher clearance up an unpaved road that can be tricky if we have had recent rain. Our cabin is Located on a 5.5 wooded acre tract with pines, hardwoods, creek, and amazing rock formations. Take advantage of hikes down to the creek for playing and enjoying birding and sounds of nature. The Whispering Pines Cabin is two separate levels. The 2nd floor is the main level with outside staircase to enter the open concept kitchen, living, and sleeping area with queen Murphy Bed. A full bath with shower is also on this main level. Large front and back covered decks are also on this 2nd level to enjoy the incredible views of the Potato Hills, Kiamichi Mountains, and Sardis Lake. The bottom level is a totally separate space that we have made into a private bedroom with comfortable king bed and leather loveseat, full bathroom with shower, and utility room with washer/dryer. This space also has a 60 inch TV with Roku for streaming, and DVD/Blue Ray player with an assortment of movies for a modern distraction, or if inclement weather keeps you indoors. The first level also has a large covered deck. Our three decks enable guests to enjoy the incredible views after you have enjoyed a day hiking to the creek on our property, fishing or playing at Sardis Lake, or taking in the wonders of nearby Talimena Scenic Byway with Winding Stair Mountain or Robbers Cave State Park. Or just kick back and watch for the Eagles flying above the lake or listening to the sounds of nature while drinking a hot cup of coffee and watching the incredible sunrise or amazing stars and night sounds. We have all you need to relax and unwind with a fully stocked kitchen complete with dishware, cooking utensils and seasonings. We also keep an assortment of books and games. Our rainwater collection and six stage UV treatment system offers incredibly good tasting and safe drinking and cooking water. No need to bring any bottled water here! We also have Starlink high speed internet so you will never miss phone communication since cell service is spotty in this area. If you have an emergency, need to check into the office, work from the cabin, or take a call for work, we've got you covered. Our cabin is great for a single person, one couple, two couples, or a family. For safety, we do not allow children under age 8. We have rugged terrain all around the cabin and property, and tall decks and stairs that are unsafe for younger children. We do allow up to two dogs under 50 lbs. for an additional pet fee. They must be well behaved and friendly toward other dogs since neighbors up the mountain have friendly dogs that may show up for a visit. For security, we have two outdoor security cameras. One at the front facing the driveway, and one at the back facing the back upstairs main door. Please send an inquiry if you have any questions. We will be happy to share our little bit of heaven with you.

We really enjoyed our visit. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. The view from the balcony is just beautiful. The beds were comfortable, AC was cold and it was overall a really nice stay. Hope to stay again!
The cabin was exactly what my husband & I were looking for. Very clean & cozy with wonderful views. We loved the seclusion while being surrounded by nature. Very quaint small town. We plan on coming back in the near future.
Everything was as posted on the website. The cabin was amazing, very clean, very organized. We felt very special at everything that went in to making this cabin so nice for us.

Thank you for the kind review. Yes... lots of great rocks in our area! Sorry about not keeping a TV upstairs in the main living area and only having the big screen TV downstairs in the bedroom. We knew it would be a distraction from enjoying the scenery and our family time.
Great stay, nice and quiet with minimal road noise. The A/C downstairs made an awful noise that made it difficult to sleep. Other than that, helpful notes all around, well stocked, fast Wi-Fi, and clean.

I am sorry about the noise in the ac split unit. I guess I never really noticed it, but my husband had mentioned it. He replaced the ball bearings and now it is so quiet we wonder if it is on. Thanks for letting us know. So sorry you had to move to the bed upstairs. Thank you for the kind review in spite of that and we promise you a quiet sleep if you return.
It was a relaxing and beautiful scenery. The host was amazing and accommodating!! The only negative is the road to the cabin, definitely need a SUV or truck. Definitely will be returning!!!

Thank you for the kind review. Yes, our road is rough going up the mountain. So glad you had a vehicle that could manage it well. Hope you can come again!
What a great weekend! My wife and I stayed during an autumn rainy weekend and it was so beautiful. Host was awesome and property was very clean and equipped with everything you need. Highly recommend!

The description of the property and driving directions were perfect. I would recommend driving a truck or suv. The water tasted great and the home was clean and well equipped. The host and the neighbor are amazing! We would stay here again.

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful review. Please come again!
This is such a quiet, relaxing getaway. The location is great, we went swimming at the Potato Hills swimming beach and it was perfect. This is a great place to go unwind and “disconnect” from the hustle n’ bustle for awhile.

Thank you for the review. Sorry about a tv not upstairs. We specifically did that so we and our kids would unplug from tv at least upstairs and enjoy the view.
This is a stunning property on a mountainside. The views are one of a kind. The property is clean and well set for a weekend getaway. Had a few questions for the host and her response was instant and spot on. I hope to visit again.

Thank you for your kind review. So glad everything worked out and you enjoyed your time at the cabin. Come again!
Nice, clean, modern cabin with a great view from the second-floor deck. One suggestion is to have the ac turned on about an hour before check-in to cool the cabin down a bit before guests arrive. Thanks.

Sorry about the AC when you arrived. We leave it on but turned up in the summer since the units on each floor cool quickly and someone can't always be there the day that guests arrive. I will try to time that better. Glad you enjoyed your stay and sad to see my first less than 5 star review.
This cabin was a huge hit for our family for our weekend lake retreat! It was super clean upon check in, and stocked with anything we may have forgotten! The entertainment selection was really great, we took advantage of the games and movies! The showers were wonderful, and the water from the UV treatment system tasted great! Our kids loved having the upstairs and downstairs separation, giving them some independence. This place has great views, great amenities, and really nice hosts! Definitely recommend and will be back!

Thank you for your kind review. So happy you all had such a great time. Allan worked hard on that water system so he was especially pleased that you noticed what great water we have. Come back anytime!
The property was very nice. A bit tough to find on the first trip, but no problems getting up to the cabin or down the hill. I was in and out several times and had no problems, even after a heavy rain.
The cabin was clean and well supplied. I was lucky enough to catch a few hours of a lightning storm across the valley that was incredible to watch. Views are great from the living room and porch.
Great little get away for a couple. Not so much for 2 single dudes visiting the offroad park a few miles down the road. While there is 2 beds the one down stairs being very comfortable and welcoming it is my understanding the upstairs fold out bed is only comparable to that of sleeping on a trampoline. The entrance into the property is only suitable for 4x4's not pulling a 32 ft car trailer.. A very steep, rough grade. Didnt bother us much but might others. Overall a really neat property,. .

Thank you for your review. Sorry about the upstairs queen bed. This was the first time I heard it was uncomfortable and I have slept there a few times. I have just put a 3 inch memory foam topper on. I'm certain you will find it very comfortable the next time you stay. As far as your trailer, I am surprised you were able to get it turned around. You must be an excellent driver. As stated in the ad, we only recommend 4X4 or high clearance vehicles. Work has been done on the road recently and regular vehicles have made it up fine as long as the road is fairly dry. Glad you enjoyed your stay and we welcome you to come back again.
About the host
Hosted by Sarah Jones
Our family of five have loved vacationing in this Southeast part of Oklahoma for years. There is so much beauty and outdoor adventure all around. From off road adventures, hiking, and river and lake sports, to spending time hanging out enjoying the fire pit or playing games, we just love being together in these tranquil and beautiful surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives.
Why they chose this property
Our property checked all of our boxes and we are blessed and want to share it with others. Safety in a gated community, over 5 acres with beautiful pines and hardwoods, a creek with pools along one border, peace and quiet with the exception of a dog barking in the distance, privacy in that you cannot see our neighbors cabins from ours yet help is close if needed, beautiful views of mountains and a lake, and gorgeous starry skies but still close to civilization. We can get a great cheeseburger 5 minutes away, a 24 hour convenience store 8 minutes away, a medical clinic and groceries 10 minutes away.
