My husband Dave and I have been married for over 30 years and have always shared a love for the mountains and the slower pace that comes with time spent in nature. Over the years, we’ve found joy in creating spaces that feel like a true escape—warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together.

I manage the day-to-day care of the cabin and take pride in making sure every detail is in place so that guests feel both comfortable and cared for. Dave is the problem-solver and craftsman—he’s the one behind many of the handmade touches you'll see throughout the property.

We're hands-on hosts who want your stay to feel seamless. I’m always available to answer questions or help with recommendations, and Dave makes sure everything is functioning just as it should. Our goal is for you to feel at ease the moment you arrive and to leave feeling rested, recharged, and already dreaming about your return.

Why they chose this property

We were drawn to this beautiful part of the mountains because it offers the perfect blend of natural serenity, striking scenery, and easy access to local charm. From the porch of the cabin, you can enjoy peaceful views of High Top Mountain—something we never get tired of. It's a daily reminder of why we chose this spot.

Another reason we love this area is its proximity to Western North Carolina’s flourishing wine region. Henderson County was officially designated an American Viticultural Area in 2019, and today there are seven wineries within a short drive—one of them just around the corner. Whether you're exploring vineyards or just relaxing with a glass in hand, the setting adds to the experience.

Beyond wine, the area is rich with opportunity. Hiking trails, cascading waterfalls, and scenic byways invite you to explore the outdoors, while local restaurants, breweries, cideries, and shops offer something to savor every day. From seasonal festivals to cozy cafés, there’s always something new to discover.

This neighborhood encourages you to slow down, look around, and truly enjoy where you are—which is exactly why we knew it was the right place for Mountain View Escape.

What makes this property unique

Mountain View Escape stands out for its thoughtful blend of comfort, quality, and natural beauty—designed especially with longer stays in mind. From the moment you arrive, you’ll notice the care that’s gone into creating a relaxing and restorative environment.

Inside, all beds feature plush memory foam mattresses dressed in high-quality linens, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. In the mornings, help yourself to a variety of K-cups and teas from our well-stocked beverage station, and savor your drink while watching the sunrise over High Top Mountain from the wraparound porch.

We’ve added a brand new fire pit for cozy evenings under the stars and a corn hole set for relaxed afternoons in the yard. Whether you're working remotely or streaming your favorite shows, our high-speed Starlink WiFi ensures you stay connected without interruption.

What truly sets this property apart, however, is the way it feels—peaceful, welcoming, and intentionally designed to help you slow down, settle in, and enjoy the mountain surroundings in comfort.
