A cozy family friendly treehouse chalet with mountain views. Located in the desirable Walnut Mountain community just 20 minutes from Blue Ridge. This 3-bedroom cabin offers 1 bathroom and room for 5 guests.

The Home Away Chalet offers a spacious front deck to watch the sunrise over the mountain peaks while the kids play on the playset. Inside you can cuddle up on the comfortable couch near the wood burning fireplace to watch a movie. In the evening you can skip the indoor dining. Grab some plates and a bottle of wine and head outdoors to enjoy a magical evening dinner under the strings of fairy lights. You can relax in the jacuzzi overlooking the green space in the back yard. This is also a great spot to watch the deer roam. When you are ready to venture out you won't have to go far. Walnut Mountain offers 4 fishing lakes, trails and even a waterfall. Or explore the kid friendly hiking trail right in our own backyard.

If you’re looking for a true rustic mountain cabin then this is the one for you. The views were good and the wildlife was abundant. Easy access and convenient to Elijjay and other smaller vibrant towns. We would stay at this cabin again.

Perfect Family Getaway!

We traveled to this beautiful cabin for our first trip as a family of 4. My husband and I love traveling so we know we want our kids to love it too. We also know that traveling with kids takes some practice so we kept it close to home and just two nights to get started. This was the perfect place! It was incredibly clean which made it reassuring with a newborn and toddler. They had many thoughtful touches from a pack ‘n play and plates and utensils for kids to a monitor and noise machine. With so many nice features, our kids slept well (and so did we on the incredibly comfortable bed)! Also, one of our toddler’s favorite toys is magnatiles, so we were delighted to see them there. For outside adventures, we were able to explore right around the property and on the playground as well as venture to one of the lakes within walnut mountain to go fishing. We can’t wait to come back when the pool is open, and we have more time to explore the other three lakes.The location is also so convenient as we felt like we were in the mountains but also easily ventured to Mountain Valley Farm, Reece’s, and Cartecay Winery. And when we forgot to pick up charcoal (even though Lindsey reminded us), we easily had some door dashed during our toddler’s nap. Lindsey was also so easy to communicate with regardless of topic or time of day. It was such a special first trip as a family of four, and we only wish we could have stayed longer!

Your place has all the right extra touches, lots of games, hiking, gaming/ tv streaming, hot tub….. great decor and very clean. Everything worked perfectly and the instructions and labeling were the highlight of my type A husbands dream vacay stay. We loved this little relaxing spot with a fantastic view, plenty of room for all to spread out or hang together. Nice and quiet community but very close to downtown, as well as all the apple orchards and wineries. Our family thanks you for your hospitality and sharing your place, we can’t wait to revisit the mountain chalet treehouse."
