We loved this property. It was super clean and the master bedroom bed was the most comfortable bed ever. Grounds are beautiful and location cannot be beat. It was peaceful and heavenly.
Our family of 5 and small dog had lots of room and comforts at Take A Hike. It was conveniently located near all the spots we wanted to visit and we enjoyed the peaceful porches and outdoor spaces.
The house was very clean. I loved the cozy living room and front porch. It was just 2 of us, but this home would be great for families with children. Having king size beds in every room is really nice too.
Loved our stay! Clean kid friendly home with a comfy set up and comfortable beds. And finally a rental that actually understands that people use more than one washcloth and towel for several days! Plenty of linens! Thank you!!
Our stay was amazing! Jessie was fantastic and the property was gorgeous! The location is perfect. It is very close to towns but you feel like you are tucked away in the mountains. It’s the best of both worlds. We will definitely stay here again when we go back to the Helen area!! Thank you!!
The property met all of our needs and was exactly what we expected. I would recommend clearer marking for which driveway to take when driving in late at night in the dark. We will definitely remember this property for a future stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation. The front porch had beautiful sunset views looking at the mountains. Each bedroom was very spacious. The pac-man arcade in the dining room was a fun touch. Our parents got a kick out of driving down the steep driveway each time we went out for the day. It’s a quick and convenient drive into Helen. Great communication with the owners. This was our second time booking with them and we would not hesitate to book with them again.
Love the area, nice quiet, clean space. I am a dusting freak because of my husbands dust allergy. This was one of few places we have stayed at where dust was not an issue. Thanks!
We were in town for my sons wedding and the host was very accommodating with people coming and going as long as only those expected slept there. It was very cute and clean. The bathrooms are a little tight on counter space if you are getting multiple people ready for a big event, but we made it work. We loved the fact that there were 3 king sized beds and was one of the top reasons that we decided on this cabin. I am a VERY picky sleeper and I slept like a baby on the mattress in the primary bedroom! The host was very responsive as well. Would definitely recommend this cabin.
We had had a nice stay in this cabin. The hosts were very communicative and available when we had questions or needed advice about the area. It was in a great location. We were able to visit Helen, go hiking, and visit several wineries. The cabin was clean and spacious. We had plenty of room for 6 adults, one baby, and two dogs. Having a king-sized bed in every room was a luxury. We especially enjoyed the grill and fire pit as well as having our morning coffee in the rocking chairs on the front porch. Some minor issues that weren’t dealbreakers for us were the small size of the shower upstairs (we made it work and we did appreciate having two full size bathrooms) and inconsistencies with the AC at night (the rooms downstairs stayed freezing while the ones upstairs were hot). I wouldn’t let any of this deter from booking the cabin, we would definitely stay again. I would just recommend if it’s hot outside to bring a fan for sleeping!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Check in was great and easy, kitchen had utensils (cups and plates). The reason I am giving it a 3 star is because some things to me were not up to par at this home. The sofa had some stains, the hand soap pump had very little soap, no soap bars for bath or small bottles of shampoo or conditioner. This may not be a big deal for some BUT EVERY VRBO we have stayed always supplied bar soap and lots of hand soap. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean however the master shower liner did not look clean. For what we paid I would have expected more, that being said if little things like what I mentioned are not a big deal then this is a great place to stay.

Thank you for your feedback. As noted in our listing, house rules, check-in details, and welcome email, toiletries are not provided. This is stated multiple times to ensure guests know what to expect, so it’s disappointing this was missed. Leaving a negative review for something clearly outlined is unfair, especially when it is part of how we keep our cabins affordable—such as offering a 6-person cabin for only $120. For future stays, we strongly encourage you to carefully review all property information so you are properly prepared.
We love the overall vibe, location, and place which were really nice, but there are a few items that could be improved:We were not provided any kind of blanket for the bed in the master bedroom, which left us using the top decorative blanket which obviously does not get cleaned on a regular basis, because it was very dusty and did not smell good. The bathroom floor was dirty and covered in hair. The coffee machine did not work properly because the carafe was likely replaced with a generic one not made for that coffee machine. it wasn’t tall enough to open the spout over the carafe, causing coffee to back up inside the machine and spill everywhere inside and out.. it was a big mess
The house was perfect for our two night getaway, and would easily worked for a longer stay. My son and I hiked during the day, and the rest of the family went shopping. The house was very close for both. In the evening, we went to see the Christmas lights in Dahlonega. Although the house is more convenient to the Helen area, which we knew when we booked, it was only about a thirty minute drive to Dahlonega.
The house shares a paved driveway with one other house and is far enough away from the road, that it was very quiet. There was also plenty of parking. Since we weren't there long, we didn't get a chance to use much of the entertainment that the house offered. We did use the fooseball table, but there was also a cornhole set, a poker setup, some board games, and a fire ring. There was also a hose near the firepit that could be used to wash off bikes.
The house was very clean, and the beds were compfortable. The hosts reached out to us to make sure that we were finding everyting OK and gave us some dining suggestions in the area.
We were very happy there, and would definately stay there again.
