Location was great, amenities were great, plenty of space for our family to hang out. Kitchen had everything you need and the property manager was very accessible. We'll be back!
Our hostess, Lindsey, always quickly returned our messages. We are an extended family with 6 adults and 4 teens and wanted a place to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. There was so much space to spread out to enjoy time together as well as time alone. The views are amazing with windows too numerous to count. Wherever you were inside the house, you always felt like you were connecting to the beautiful natural outdoor setting. Kitchen was large enough to enjoy cooking together. There are three distinct living spaces that we all used and two dining areas. My daughter and daughter-in-law loved the screened in porch swing. To top all that off there was a hot tub to enjoy. You will not go wrong renting this excellent home in the woods.
First off, i read about Big Canoe on a blog entitled, "10 best places to take your kids", and let me tell you, this was definitely one of them. Big Canoe did not disappoint! There were so many activities available, from hiking to swimming, fishing and boating. Yes there was some extra costs involved, but overall worth it. Now about this property. It was located within a few minutes drive (5-10) from all the activities and the North gate. The house was nice and spacious, with plenty of rooms for all our children. It had lots of beautiful light and was decorated tastefully. As far as cleanliness, it wasa 9/10. A few things i would have liked to be cleanier. And it would have been nice to have a broom available for cleaning after meals. There were a few items missing in the stocked kitchen and no toiletries, and the beds were all on the firm side, but overall a comfortable home base for exploring Big Canoe
Excessive amount of spiderwebs inside and outside of house that we had to kill, daughter got bitten on neck when trying to come in the house spider dropped on her. Owner was able to resolve the problem with lady coming through to try to remove spiders within a couple of hours. Electrical outlets did not work to left side refrigerator, had to move k-cup coffee pot to other counter for it to work. Closet was locked unable to get to a broom, ironing board, No sheets for the fold out coach downstairs. Overall, its was ok what was most important that we were with family, my granddaughter has epilepsy so the owner did allow us to bring a service pet.
