About this property
On Big Canoe MNTN LAKE Beach/Trails/Pool/Fitnss, LUX FURNSHD, Fire pit, GAME RM
"The Roost" is a 4 bdrm/4.5 bath, rustic/modern, luxuriously appointed home located inside of Big Canoe, the award winning gated mountain/golf/tennis/water activities and nature preserve community in the north Georgia mountains. The home sits on and overlooks Lake Disharoon and the Big Canoe mountains with easy access to the Spa and Fitness/Wellness Center, the Swim Club, hiking trails, the beach and lake. It is apprx 100 steps/2 minutes walk to beach and lake from the back door.
"The Roost" is a notch above typical home rental offering high-end appointments and furnishings with a rustic modern feel such as 600+ thread count Egyptian cotton bedding with Belgian linen duvets, plush Hotel Collection towels, high end cookware and appliances, open concept kitchen, stacked stone wood burning fireplace with free firewood and a propane fire pit. Also enjoy our newly added terrace game room with 8' shuffle board table, giant wall scrabble, classic table top multi-arcade with 400 vintage 80s arcade games, electronic fire place, large smart tv with gaming console and board games. Ping pong and darts are also available, both of which are on the terrace level dry deck.
You will have access to all of award winning Big Canoe’s activities such as indoor/outdoor swimming, pontoon boating/canoeing/kayaking/paddle boarding, spa and fitness center, 27 Championship holes of golf, 12 multi-surfaced tennis courts and indoor courts, new multi million dollar clubhouse with pub and restaurant, 20+ miles of hiking trails with waterfalls, parks with playsets for the little ones, jogging paths, ball fields, bocce courts, basketball court and jeep trail. I encourage you to visit bigcanoepoa.org for detailed list of activities some of which would have hourly/daily/weekly fee associated with them.
Enjoy grilling with views of Lake Disharoon and the Big Canoe Mountains on the expansive upper deck with a Weber propane grill and propane fire pit while your friends/family relax on the hammock or loungers. Also dine out at nearby restaurants including The newly renovated Big Canoe Clubhouse, Home Restaurant (reservations only) featuring farm to table continental cuisine and Lucky Hare and Night Train Pizza just outside the north gate entrance. Fuego Mexican Cantina, Marble Hill Tavern, Smokehouse BBQ, Marys Bread Basket and Huddle House all next to the Lowes Foods grocery store at the Foothills Shopping Center.
Make use of our new bottom deck with cafe lights featuring a ping pong table, dart board, daybed, dining/game table, lounger and 2 more hammocks. Just off the bottom deck you are steps to Lake Disharoon, beach, trails, fitness center/spa and indoor pool all year round and becomes the Swim Club in the summer months. The Swim Club offers spa water swimming pool, swimming lake with white sand beach, canoes/paddle boats/yolo boards, rock water-slide and floating obstacle course all just steps from the back door. Also enjoy Lakeside Bistro (summer months) overlooking the pool/lake to order your favorite sandwiches, tacos, salads, adult beverages and ice creams in the summer months. Daily or weekly passes for the Swim Club can be purchased at the pool area during the summer months Memorial Day until typically the last weekend in July and then Saturdays and Sundays until Labor Day. The beach and lake swimming are available all year round with pool open until Labor Day. The Wildcat pool area about 5mn drive from the house is open daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
The trail head just off the right side of beach area offers an easy to moderate system of trails that meets up with and follows picturesque Disharoon Creek which includes two beautiful waterfalls, bridged creek crossings, and settlers cabin. So bring a picnic and lunch under the falls. Big Canoe's Jeep Trail can be accessed just at the end of our street, Laurel Ridge Trail, for a bit of 4x4 off-roading or mountain biking. The Jeep Trail fords creeks, and accesses the same waterfalls, settlers cabin as above.
The Roost is nestled next to Wolfscratch Village which boasts Big Canoe Spa/Wellness and Fitness Center, indoor/outdoor pool, indoor/outdoor tennis, park with play-sets, jogging path, ball fields, hiking trails, a Church and Post Office, all in a beautiful mountain and lake setting."
