This place is just the cutest. It was small, but we had everything we could possibly need. It was clean and comfy and just minutes from area attractions. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. I would definitely recommend!
1st time using VRBO. Host was helpful with ideas for the trip before arrival. House was great, cozy, and clean. Neighborhood was quiet, neighbors were friendly. Had a great experience.
We enjoyed our stay at Allison’s place. She responded quickly and went above and beyond to accommodate our little family. Her house is cozy and has cool art. It is in a great spot to explore New River Gorge and some tasty restaurants!
Me and my best friend stayed for 4 days and had a blast. The location is 10 minutes away from TONS of trails and exploration, and we had a blast. Very close to major cities and events.
I’m from FTWayne Ind loved that once I got to WVA state had a clean place loved location
Very clean and beds were great comfortable loved that they had all kinds cleaning products but it was very affordable loved the location near gas station restaurant everything accessible
The property is dated but was comfortable, we stayed 3 nights to visit Thurmond and the New River. Both were very close by so our daily commute was short.
This house was cute and cozy - it had everything we needed. We went to local State Parks but it was nice to come back and unwind at the house and make a nice meal. We were even able to enjoy a nice fire in the fire pit !
The stay was good. No bells and whistles, but somewhere close to the NP to hang your hat and get comfy for a few nights. Watched the finals of 2024 euros while at the stay too so, it will always be in the memory box.
Everything was exactly as pictured. No problems with checkin and everything worked. it was great having a washer and dryer after a day on the river! Would definitely stay again. Thank you!
The house was fine. We had everything we needed. I wouldn't say it was fancy but we weren't missing anything. We didn't cook at the house but certainly could have.
It was great to have a base for all of our adventures around the state and national parks. The street was very quiet. Certainly can't have more than 1 car but that didn't bother us.
This property was perfectly located for our New River Gorge family getaway. It was less then 12 minutes from the Canyon Rim entrance and the NRG Bridge and Ace Adventure. It was 2 minutes from a local grocery store and 10 minutes from other foods and shopping needs. It was clean, newly updated and had a beautiful wood deck and patio out back. The owner was quick to respond and very accommodating to our needs. I would highly recommend this location to anyone and we would gladly stay again!

❤️I appreciate all of the feedback! I am grateful that the New Surf bungalow gets to be apart of your good vibes and happy memories! 🙏🏄🏼♀️🙏
Perfect property for someone looking for an older home in a quiet neighborhood. Just a clean and basic house close to New River Gorge National Park. If you want luxury this is not for you but if you want a nice place to stay at a reasonable price close to the psrk this is your place. The GPS does not realize that this street does not connect to the main street but after going around the block it can be found. Only one car can fit in the drive and there are steep steps to the door but the house itself was nice. The location made it easy to get to the park each day and the very quiet neighborhood was a real plus for me.
This review is going to seem brutal compared to all the raving 5 star, and maybe if you only stay a night or two it would be fine; staying 5 days we found all the reasons this isn't a 5 star place. Firstly, there are no curtains on most of the windows; only thin ratan blind that is see through, and none in the kitchen. I had clothes pins and we clipped blankets and towels to the blinds. ... There are no towel bars in the bathroom, so you end up with wet towels drying on furniture. Plus no electric. I ended up in the kitchen with my hair dryer and curling iron with a compact purse mirror. Not idea. The wifi is so iffy it is practically nonexistent. The tv has no viewable channels unless you put your own accounts on it.If you don't want to eat out every meal, take cookware. There are only a couple skillets and one pan, plus no serving spoons. The owner could drive up the road to W-M and buy a set of nonstick cookware for under the price of one night's stay. Also pick up a couple of smaller knives and steak knives as there are only huge carving/chef knives, and some new register covers -- they are only a few dollars each and would a whole lot better than the dirty rusty ones that are there now. Thank goodness there was bug spay for all the ants in the kitchen and the hornet nest in the kitchen window. There is a lot to be said for location, vintage charm, and cute eclectic decor, but practicality goes a long way also.
