About this property
2 br, 1 ba guest cabin near Glacier National Park
10 minutes from Glacier National Park, enjoy this 2 bedroom fully equipped guest cabin. It is ready to be the base for your experience of Glacier, the surrounding wilderness and all the Flathead Valley has to offer. Enjoy nearby rafting, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, golfing and more! There are newly added front and back furnished porches, a fire pit and upgraded (high speed, more reliable) internet. New landscaping this week!
The space
This mountain style cabin was crafted by local builders and artisans. It contains a number of unique items - some work from local artists. The bench by the living room window was made from one of the original bed frames from the Sperry Chalet in the park. Some of these items are available for sale if interested. The proceeds of which go directly to the local artists. There is a gas grill and folding chairs. Front and back covered porches and a fire-pit have been added.
We list it as able to sleep 5, although the living room has a sleep sofa and so technically, it could sleep 7. This could work ok if it is a combination of children and adults, but definitely VERY cozy for 7 adults.
Guest access
The property has a main house nearby, a guest cabin (this one) and some RV sites in the lower field well away from the houses. While there is no formal barrier in the backyard between the main house and the guest cottage, there is plenty of space for all. Please park in the spaces in front and off to the side of the guest cabin.
Other things to note
One of our local hosts and guides, Sam manages Wild River Adventures. They were the first commercial rafting company at Glacier Park. Wild River consistently has outstanding ratings from guests.
Another of our guides, Jake, also manages Glacier Distilling, a local craft distillery - worth a visit and a tasting! Josephine's right next door to the distillery has really good appetizers and also features Glacier Distilling products.
Canyon Foods in Hungry Horse is a very nice, local grocery store with really good huckleberry ice cream :-)
