We traveled for the purpose of marking Missouri off of our States Visited list. This house was located near several State Parks and not a far drive from St. Louis. It was a great value for our family trip.
My son and his girlfriend and I stayed two nights. Joe was responsive to my messages regarding our late arrival due to heavy Thanksgiving traffic. We had no problems. Grocery stores were close by and our relatives' house was close by.
We would stay there again.
The cottage is very welcoming and my girls (17 year old twins) both said, "It reminds me of grandmas house". The location is excellent too. We were close to everything we wanted to do. The cottage was clean, comfortable and we really enjoyed the fire pit out back that was stocked with wood and ready to light. I would most definitely come back and enjoy it again.
There are a couple of issues the tree needs trimming so they don’t scratch cars like it did my truck & the silverware is cheapest thing you could possibly put in a rental and for what they charge not providing toilet paper at the very least . But other than the couple of issues the property is very clean and cozy
This property was very nice and a perfect location for the places we wanted to visit. Easy day trips to Elephant Rock, Mina Sauk Falls and such. Comfortable beds, clean and cozy, quiet neighborhood. Very relaxing stay. Washer and dryer on site very convenient after 3 kids hiking all day in 90 degree heat, lol!!
3 negatives: hall bathroom toilet didn’t flush properly from first use, filled to top of bowl and gradually went down. We didn’t use after that. Bedroom that had been converted from a garage was very nice with attached bathroom, but it has no a/c ducts or ceiling fan and was impossible to sleep in there during our stay. Guests need to now that up front. We pulled mattress to living room to sleep in, not exactly convenient!!
And 3rd, a repeat from a previous guest, the tree next to driveway needs branches cut back to keep off of the cars. Would take 15 minutes to accomplish this and make much easier to park.
Overall a very nice stay and would do so again if the bedroom a/c issue was fixed.
We needed a quiet place to stay while hiking at the local state parks. We hiked three parks that were less than thirty minutes away. This house became our home for 3 nights and was a great get away.
Nice clean place. Couldn’t find a toilet plunger. Sorry about the toilet being stoped up.
The listing says sleeps seven but I didn’t catch that the king bed was for 3 people. That’s a little misleading. Very affordable . Thank you.
