About this property

Scandinavian HideOut w/hot tub, mtn view+Starlink

Something different in the Smokies. The HideOut is an architect-designed cabin built for the kind of trip where you actually unwind — hot tub on the deck, fire pit under the stars, and mountain views from every corner. Modern, private, and packed with things to do inside and out. Five minutes from the National Park, fifteen from Pigeon Forge. The hot tub is always ready.

A Different Kind of Smokies Cabin
The Smokies are full of log cabins. They are not full of buildings like this one. The HideOut was designed from a blank sheet by the owner — an architect-trained designer — and built by local craftspeople over two years. Modern lines, open interiors, and a ridgeline deck facing the valley. Private, quiet, and genuinely unlike anything else in the area.

The Outdoor Space
The deck runs the full length of the cabin with the hot tub lit and warm before you arrive. A short walk leads to a private fire pit perfect for evenings under the stars. Throw axes, play cornhole, relax in the hammock, or watch a movie on the outdoor projector. There's plenty to do — or nothing at all, if that's the point.

The Design
White-oiled wood interiors, authentic Eames lounging chairs, and lighting that softens as the sun drops. Heavy cotton linens, premium bath products, and a kitchen set up for a slow morning — espresso, good cookware, and no rushing. A curated record player with a vinyl collection waits for lazy afternoons.

The View
The cabin sits on its own piece of Wears Valley ridgeline, sited to capture mountain views while keeping the deck private and sheltered. On clear mornings the ridges fade into the distance. On cloudy ones the mist sits in the valley below and you wake up above the weather.

The Cabin
Perfect for couples, families, and small groups. The primary bedroom has a queen bed with a long view. A second sleeping area has a twin-over-twin trundle — great for two kids or extra guests. The living room has a high-quality convertible sectional that sleeps comfortably as a queen. One full bath finished with the same care as the rest of the house.

The Tech
Starlink internet running 100–200 Mbps, Google Home voice-controlled lighting and music throughout, and an outdoor projector for movie nights on the deck.

Where You Are
Wears Valley is the quiet side of the Smokies — five minutes from the Metcalf Bottoms entrance of the National Park and fifteen minutes from Pigeon Forge. The valley road has everything you need: great coffee, a moonshine distillery, a winery, and some of the best local food in the area at Elvira's Cafe.

Traveling with a larger group? Our neighboring cabin AloneTime sits right next door. Book both and we'll coordinate your stays into a private mountain compound experience.

About Us
We're Alexei and Nicola. Fourteen years hosting in the Smokies, almost 700 guest stays across our small portfolio. The HideOut is the property we're proudest of — Alexei designed it end-to-end. We answer messages quickly and send a curated local guide once you book.

This place was perfect. The location was great for visiting the smokies. Close enough to enjoy the area and far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The home was extremely well appointed and the host was very thoughtful-great communication and amenities! Just enough soap, dishwasher pods, washer/dryer worked great, etc. The kids loved the hot tub with a tv screen, and the view was amazing! We stayed with three kids (ages 5,8, and 11) and had plenty of room. Highly recommend!

We had an absolute wonderful stay, and it was very peaceful. Just what our family needed. There were some housekeeping items that I came across, but reached out to the owner who was extremely responsive and friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Plus the coffee shop that was recommended was amazing. A perfect stay for our family.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and spacious and provided us with needed solitude, amenities and plenty of kitchen tools (this was key given how much we were cooking). However, on day 2 of our stay, we experienced a power outage. We contacted the host with no response. We reached out to VRBO who also attempted to reach the host will no response. Eventually we got in contact with the county who informed us power was being restored. We did not hear from the host until hours later who informed us that they reside in a different time zone. This was a very frustrating experience. We had hoped that in a situation like this, someone (property manager perhaps) would have been entrusted to communicate with us in the event of an emergency like this. Aside from that hiccup, we enjoyed our stay.

Hi Tiara, thank you for your feedback and we are happy you enjoyed your stay overall. Regarding outages, we provide information in the listing description that time to time, given secluded location of the property and weather events, county experiences outages on the utility side, which are always addressed swiftly. Your inquiry, according to our records, came in at 2:00 AM our time and we responded at 7:00 AM our time, confirming that the utility is on it and all was resolved by then. I absolutely understand your concern and sympathize with your sentiment regarding being "left in the dark". However, I want to make it clear that we acted within our suggested response time of 24hrs and the issue was rectified swiftly. Our sincere apologies it caused you an undue stress, and will ensure that the reminder about a potential for such outages, due to a weather event or maintenance, goes out repeatedly during their stay. We hope to see you again here soon!

Our family of 4 stayed at Hideout for 2 nights. We really enjoyed our stay. The kids, 4 and 1, had a lot of fun with the outdoor toys, the arcade game and the Roku the tvs inside. Modern cabin perfection

The Scandinavian Hideout was a great modern take on a mountain cabin that fit us perfectly. The cabin met all of our needs and provided a great experience and location in the middle of the tourist areas and the “peaceful side” of the valley. Highly recommended for a couple or small family to set up base camp while exploring all the area has to offer.

This rental is hands down, a great stay! The home was clean, cozy, accommodating, and had a HECK of a view! We encountered a bit of snow and a late night arrival but the home was well lit, and ready to go. The very next morning, we were honored to host a bear friend who walked right through the yard while we sipped our tea! The distance to the Smokey Mountain National Park and surrounding experiences was convenient, while still feeling secluded. The games provided were plentiful. You had a range of outdoor and indoor activities to choose from without ever leaving the home. It was a wonderful reprieve from the 'normal world' and we would love to come back in the spring to see the mountain bloom!

Molly, we are happy you enjoyed your time at Hideout. We put a lot of thought and effort into creating a cabin what it is today. We always look for opportunities to add more amenities, and a few latest additions include: a projector for outdoor movie or you tube watching, and an opened view of the mountains in front of the cabin. Viewable all year long, from the deck, hot tub, and a barbecue area. We sure hope to attract more connoisseurs of style and undisturbed nature lovers like yourselves. Thank you. Hope to see you again soon.
