Comfortable Montana Country Home for Family Getaways
Escape to the peaceful beauty of rural Montana in this spacious 5-bedroom, 3.5-bath country home, located just 25 minutes from Missoula International Airport. With room for up to 12 guests, it's the perfect place for family reunions, holiday gatherings, fishing trips, or simply slowing down and enjoying Montana's wide-open spaces.
The home features a comfortable, family-friendly floor plan with plenty of space to gather together while still allowing everyone to spread out. This is a well-loved, well-maintained home—not a luxury rental. If you're looking for a high-end resort experience, this probably isn't the right fit. If you appreciate a clean, comfortable, lived-in home with character, you'll feel right at home here.
Step outside to enjoy the patio and BBQ while taking in the peaceful surroundings. Wildlife is abundant, and it's common to see deer and wild turkeys wandering through the property. You'll see and hear a wide variety of nesting birds, spot gophers, and from time to time come across a skunk or raccoon. Also, because this is Montana, you may also encounter bears, and mountain lions, so it's important to be alert and cautious while exploring the property and surrounding areas. The home is bordered by livestock on two sides, so during warmer months, insects can be part of the country experience.
The property is located on the reservation just north of Missoula, providing a quiet setting while remaining close enough to enjoy the city's restaurants, shopping, breweries, outdoor recreation, and the airport.
To ensure everyone has a pleasant stay, we ask that guests respect our home and neighbors:
Maximum occupancy: 12 guests No parties or events Absolutely no smoking anywhere on the property
If you're looking for a comfortable home base to experience the beauty, wildlife, and peaceful pace of rural Montana, we'd love to host you.

Stayed with our extended family of 8 for our sons wedding at Cattle Springs. The house was perfect! Beautiful setting. Comfy beds and lots of amenities. Thank you Carrie!
We had the BEST time. Carrie was so easy to get ahold of, the views were insanely beautiful, and it had fully a stocked kitchen, bathrooms, tons of entertainment, etc. And plenty of room for 12 people! We already have some people planning on coming back!!

Thank you so much for staying with us! We are so happy to hear you had a great time and thank you for taking such good care of our home. :)
Beautiful location and home. The owner was helpful with an issue we had. The had 10 people in the house and it never felt small. Plenty of room to spread out.
We were in the area for a wedding in Missoula. Spent 3 wonderful nights. Not far off highway but very quiet. Plenty of out and indoor living. The 2 en suite master bedrooms worked great for our family. Would recommend this to everyone that comes to the area. Host Carrie was very accommodating. Thanks for sharing your childhood home.

About the host
Hosted by Megan Hastig
Our parents purchased this property in 1976 when I was three years old and my brother just a baby. Raised under the big sky of Western Montana on the Flathead Reservation, our childhood was shaped by the unique blend of rugged cowboy culture, sustainable living, and Native American traditions.
In 2003, as retirees, our parents converted our home into a bed and breakfast, then strictly as a vacation rental in 2008. We lost our dad in 2013 but our mum soldiered on. In spring of 2024, I left my home in California of 25 years and returned to the big sky to take over as host. The property is a work in a progress - a labor or love - and I'm enjoying being able to spend the time needed to do little updates here and there as time allows. The list is long, but we work hard to make your time here comfortable!
Why they chose this property
One of the most captivating aspects of living in the country is the natural beauty that surrounds you. From the expansive fields on the valley floor to the dense forests in the mountains behind our home, the countryside provides a picturesque backdrop that changes with the seasons. Sunrises and sunsets seem more vibrant, and stargazing on clear nights can't be beat!
What makes this property unique
We may be biased, but we feel we have one of the best views of the valley! With tribal land to the east and a conservation easement to the north, our property offers privacy without being too far from modern day necessities.
Our home's floor plan with three separate sleeping areas works perfectly for large families, friends traveling together, or as a hub for out of town guests attending a wedding.
