One of the best places we've ever stayed at. The hosts made everything easy. The location was amazing. We felt like we were nestled between hills. Convenient to downtown Missoula and essentially in the Rattlesnake Wilderness area. The cabin had everything we needed. I'm not a hot-tub person but the location was so beautiful I indulged. The stream running by the cabin was a bonus. Next time we're in Missoula, this is where we will be.
The cabin is clean, well provisioned, and beautiful. The natural setting is an amazing spot for bird watching. It was a great retreat at the end of the day.
Our family had a wonderful stay. Everything we needed for a stay away from home was provided. It was so easy to find the cabin. Very quiet and serene. The hosts were very accommodating to our needs. We will be staying here again!
Great cabin for a little getaway trip. Perfect base to explore Missoula—which is beautiful! You feel secluded at the cabin but have a quick, easy drive to whatever you need in town. We traveled with young kids (4yo, 2yo, and newborn), the cabin felt safe, clean, and quiet. Also loved that in a quick 5 minute drive we were at a place my family could hike.
This is quaint, nicely appointed log cabin in a quiet, end of the road neighborhood. It is minutes from downtown Missoula yet the cabin and property have a relaxing wilderness feel and are a short walk to the creek and Rattlesnake trailhead. This was our second stay at this property and we would gladly rent again.
We absolutely loved this little cozy cabin in the woods!! It had everything we could have wanted/ needed and more! Quiet and secluded! Beautiful detail throughout! Definitely plan on coming back!! 10000/10 recommend
We had such a blast! Really nice. Plus, Shane and Collin were very sweet and flexible with us when we needed an extra day in dealing with hurricanes back home.
Loved the location of the cabin. It was close to multiple hiking trails. The cabin was also far enough away that if felt secluded. However, it was close to the city. The property owner was very helpful.
Clean quiet area all the facilities were great. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is the beds and sofa weren't very comfortable. I understand not putting a 5 star hotel matress or sofa but it could be a little better without a spending a whole lot.more
This beautiful cabin, in the mountains of Montana, is truly a must stay. The inside is clean, well organized, stocked with everything you need.
(Not to mention the awesom lighting and fire place for those romantic moments.)
The hot tub is very luxurious and close to the door for those winter soaks. Best of all the staff are very committed to making your stay as comfortable, private and quiet as possible.
My wife and I recommend this cabin to everyone who wants to enjoy a nice quiet stay in a very cozy cabin!!!
A great destination spot along with being close to Missoula!
We loved this property and have plans on returning! It was beautifully situated close to Missoula but also close to the amazing trailheads, which were walking distance. There was much consideration in the design of the property, where we got the cabin feel with luxury items. We loved the indoor fireplace, hottub and fire pit. In addition, the property had great amenities such as the comfortable bedding, Nespresso machine, robes, shampoos and conditioners. There was a great little market within a 5 min. drive that offered great food if you didn't feel like cooking or needed a few essentials. We LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this property and plan on returning!

Liked: Cleanliness, location
Disliked: Check-in, listing accuracy
A beautiful, clean, & stunning spot – just not an accurate listing
The cabin in Rattlesnake is lovely – a great location, very kind hosts, and a beautiful spot in Montana. Unfortunately, due to VRBO, the listing was incorrect, citing 2.5 bathrooms, when really it just had one. I hope this is something the hosts can work out with VRBO – it's a lovely space, it just didn't work well for us since we had 4 people in our party 1 with a chronic illness – the 2.5 bathrooms was one of the reasons we booked. I highly recommend to all guests who only need one bathroom – it was lovely!

Response from VrboOwner on 2 Jun, 2025
Hello Hanna,
We did reach out before you arrived addressing the inaccuracy with the listing to explain this was a glitch with the vrbo platform, and not something we the had the ability to fix on our end. At that time we would have been happy to refund your stay, and helped to find accommodations that would have worked out better for your group. We offered compensation by not charging the pet fee, and never heard back from you about the bathroom issue until after your group checked out. Understandable that only having one bathroom was a let down for your group, and we apologize the system still displayed wrong information even after several attempts to remediate the issue with VRBO.
Thanks again,
Rattlesnake Wilderness Cabin Team
The cabin was thoughtfully furnished, with a great deal of attention to every detail (even a meat thermometer to check that steak!) The cabin stayed very cool - the mini units were awesome.
I have been to Missoula many times, but never stayed this far up in the Rattlesnake. It’s a great location to hike, bike, trail run, etc. in the Rattlesnake recreation area. It gave me a new appreciation for the area, A 15 minute drive to town, but so quiet and peaceful.
We traveled from Pennsylvania to this cozy cabin and we cannot say enough positive things about our experience at this cabin. We were in town to tour the University of Montana with our son and we were looking for something close enough to town, but remote enough to get away from it all and this cabin was both! The cabin is clean and everything about our stay was comfortable. Communication with the host was remarkable when I forgot to access the check in information that was sent to me ahead of time. I so appreciate their quick response to my question on that!
We enjoyed a nice walk at the nearby Rattlesnake Rec area and also enjoyed the hot tub each morning, while listening to the turkeys off in the distance.
Thank you for the perfect spot. If my son decides to attend the university, then we have found our home away from home when we visit him.
This property provided the clean, relaxing privacy that we desired while keeping us close to town. The home has been very tastefully remodeled, keeping some of the original rustic charm and alure of the 100-year-old cabin, while also providing ample high-end updated amenities and appliances. Outside, the hot tub was wonderful to sit in while watching the resident turkeys and listening to the wind through the trees, plus the propane grill was great for grilling steaks and burgers. Inside, the beds and bedding provided wonderful rest while the stocked modern kitchen and bathroom made us feel like we were home while away from home. The indoor gas stove also provided a warm and comfortable space for an evening watching the smart TV or hanging out on the couch or rocking chair. Only once did we have any questions and were able to get immediate cordial response from the owners. We were very satisfied with our stay and will look to book it again in the future if we need another stay in the Missoula area.
Beautifully decorated cabin, very comfortable and well appointed! The property is gorgeous, lush yard tucked in among the pines. Great location close to trails and town. Loves the hot tub too! Host was very responsive. We will stay here again!
