Nice property, manager instructions/communications need improving
Spacious, well-appointed house that worked great for our group of 4. However, the instructions for checking in were received very late, despite my express request a few days earlier to have them texted to me a few days before. Our group was backpacking in a remote area of the island right before we arrived, so I asked they be texted the entry info for the house on Thurs before our Sun arrival. The check in info wasn't sent before I went into cell non-reception. It was extremely difficult and inconvenient for me to find them via email upon our arrival due to run down cell phone. Then the instructions themselves were misleading. They said we had to go through a "back gate" with a code. There was no back gate for the property. And the street numbers were extremely hard to see after dark, when we arrived. The street is narrow and properties almost impossible to see with addresses. A better identification sign and explicit directions should be provided (i.e., the second to last house on the right before the end of the street). There is a garage door, a downstairs entry door, and an upstairs entry door, all with codes. It would be easy to specify entry through any of these, with the right codes, instead of a "back gate". I've been staying at VRBOs for many years and have enjoyed them all. This was the hardest and most difficult check in ever, and it didn't need to be. The property itself was nice and I'd stay there again if these check-in issues are resolved.
