QUIET SECURE LOCATION FOR 2, CENTRAL TO POPULAR DESTINATIONS.

The self-catering accommodation consists of a large family room with French doors that open onto a charming private garden. Consisting of a modern well equiped kitchen, dining area with comfortable seating and utility room with washing machine, spin dryer, iron and board. You will find a large video library and also plenty to read .

Television Channels: French TV plus 17, German plus 13, UK plus 50, and many other European channels. FREE WiFi.

The large first floor bedroom with king size bed and luxury en suit bathroom is accessed by a spiral staircase from the family room.

Ideally located, the newly restored lavender barn offers privacy and convenience, just step outside and you are a one-minute walk from the village center and it’s local wine bar & restaurant, also a 4 minute walk from the ancient Chateau.

The village of Lardiers is close to Banon where there is an excellent bookshop, small supermarket, restaurants, a wine bar, cafés, bakery, butchers and weekly market. It is the perfect place to unwind and experience French cafe culture.

This central area of Provence is the perfect location for explorers of medieval hill top villages, for walkers and cyclists who enjoy the beauty of the vast area of the Montagne de Lur. This hidden area in the Alpes de haute Provence is extraordinarily beautiful with many opportunities for day trips. You can sample world-class wines, wander through fields of lavender and sunflowers, shop in open-air markets, and enjoy outdoor activities.

Close by are the towns of Forcalquier, Manosque, Apt and Sisteron with their museums and medieval architecture. From this central Provence location day trips to Avignon, Aix en Provence, Marseille and many other internationally renowned places are within easy reach.

Mike & Rosi purchased the old lavender barn in 2009, which had change very little during it's very long history. Formally owned by the Chateau of Lardiers, where the owners would have brought the lavender from the fields to distil into essence of lavender at the ancient barn, before transporting the oil's to Marseille. Mike & Rosi were able to draw on their years of experience restoring old properties and their former business activities to convert the barn into a domestic accomodation.

Wundervoller Aufenthalt!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit hier! Die Wohnung ist mit sehr viel Liebe eingerichtet und es ist alles da, was man braucht. Die Küche ist einfach großartig, ein fünfflammiger Gasherd unter anderem. Es gibt eine Waschmaschine, einen Trockner und eine Spülmaschine. Das Schlafzimmer und das luxuriöse Bad sind über eine Wendeltreppe in der oberen Etage erreichbar. Trotz hoher Temperaturen, war es in der Wohnung sehr gut auszuhalten. Mike ist ein herzlicher Gastgeber, der uns viele hilfreiche Tipps für Ausflüge in der Umgebung gegeben hat. Direkt gegenüber im Café De Lavande by MoJo kann man gut und günstig essen oder einfach ein Glas Wein trinken. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Der perfekte Ort zum Entspannen

Für alle, die zugleich Ruhe als auch sportliche Aktivität, Kultur und das romantische Leben in einem französischen Dorf suchen, ist dieser Platz genau das Richtige. Die gut ausgebauten Straßen ermöglichen vielfältige Radtouren, sei es zum Kaffeetrinken in das nahegelegene Banon oder für engagierte Radfahrer auch direkt zum Mont Ventoux. Man kann unendliche Wanderungen in den einsamen Hügeln der Umgebung unternehmen oder auch nur einen Abendspaziergang zwischen den betörenden Lavendelfeldern. Wer die Erfrischung in einem See braucht, kann Mike, den wunderbaren Gastgeber, nach den besten Tipps für alle Bedürfnisse fragen. Die Ferienwohnung ist so liebevoll und gemütlich eingerichtet, dass man eigentlich gar nicht wieder nach Hause fahren möchte. Die Städte Banon und besonders Forcalquier bieten besonders in den Sommermonaten wunderschöne Konzerte jeglicher Art an. Das Bistro direkt gegenüber der Ferienwohnung ist vom ersten Moment an ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen – es gibt alles, was der Herz begehrt und das internationale Flair unter Weinranken lässt einen so richtig in Ferienstimmung kommen. Aber man sollte sich auch keinesfalls den Besuch der verschiedenen Wochenmärkte entgehen lassen. Man bekommt so wundervolles Gemüse, Käse, Wurst und noch viel mehr französische Lebensart geboten, woraus sich in der eigenen Küche wunderbare Gerichte zaubern lassen.Und was auch immer man fragen möchte oder braucht – die Gastgeber sind jederzeit hilfsbereit. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Très contents de notre séjour.

Gîte spacieux, confortable et avec beaucoup de charme, frais malgré la canicule. Très bon accueil. Environnement calme et reposant, de nombreuses possibilités de balades. Bref, séjour très agréable même si nous avons eu un peu chaud: nous reviendrons à une autre période de l'année.

idéal pour un couple gîte et environnement calme et préservé

Accueil très chaleureux . Les propriétaires :Rosi et MIke sont adorables ,au petits soins pour vous mais sans exagération. Présents à l étage du dessus mais très discrets ,Ils sont cependant là quand vous en avez .besoin L entrée du gîte est bien séparée du reste de la maison donc grande liberté Appartement de qualité très bien équipé Si l on aime la haute provence et tout ses beaux aspects ainsi que ses randonnées . Le village des Lardiers est bien placé proches des collines du sud et des beaux villages Forqualquier Banon etc ......il est aussi proches des montagnes plus conséquentes La Lure Le massif du col de Fontbelle . On peut dire qu il est un point commode et assez central dans une nature restée sauvage . Pour nous ce fut un régal dans ce petit village charmant.

UN SEJOUR REVIVIFIANT

Le village est d'un grand calme en cette période de début d'année quoique très accueillant au hasard des rencontres fort sympathiques de ses habitants et chasseurs. Le charme douillet de la grange des lavandes nous a permis d'agréables soirées et les journées bénéficiant d'un ensoleillement exceptionnel , de belles balades en foret. Que dire sur l'aménagement de la grange, rien de négatif , tout est fait pour le confort des occupants. A recommander pour retrouver l'hédonisme d'une vie auprès de la nature.

Traumurlaub

Wir waren für 2 Wochen , die Gäste von Rosi und Mike , in deren , sehr aufwendig , und stilvoll restaurierten , Ölmühle. Rosi und Mike haben uns sehr herzlich aufgenommen, und uns mit Tips , für die Sehenswürdigkeiten , in der Umgebung , von Lardiers ( von denen es , eine Menge gibt !!! ) versorgt. Sie stehen einem wirklich , mit Rat und Tat zur Seite , und wir müssen sagen , dass Sie , gute Gastgeber sind. Die Räumlichkeiten , sind sehr stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet . Eine Wendeltreppe führt hinauf , in das Schlafzimmer , dem das Bad angeschlossen ist. Der Blick aus dem Schlafzimmer , ist einer der Höhepunkte , dieser schönen Wohnung. Man hat , von dort einen einzigartigen Blick , auf die , gegenüberliegende Bar de la Lavande chez MOJO , der einem , dieses französische Flair , vor Augen führt , welches man sich, von Frankreich vorgestellt hat , und wird uns unvergessen bleiben. Der Ort Lardiers , lädt zu Spaziergängen , durch die engen und traumhaften Gässchen ein , und bietet eine große Auswahl , an tollen Fotomotiven. Da wir unseren Hund mit hatten , haben wir auch die Wege , um Lardiers beschritten , und sind mit der beeindruckenden Landschaft der Haute Provence beglückt worden. Banon ( 13km ) und Forcalquier ( 18km ) laden je 1 x , in der Woche , zu Märkten ein , die man auf jeden Fall besuchen sollte. Dort wird man mit allem , was , die Haute Provence an Spezialitäten zu bieten hat ( und auch das ist einiges !! ) durch die Märkte , förmlich gezogen und ‚petit’ , verwöhnt. Roussillon , Gordes , Valensole ( unendlich, weite Lavendelfelder ) Simiane la Rotonde , alles sehr sehenswerte Orte , die die Geschichte und beeindruckende Landschaft dieser wunderschönen Gegend aufzeigen, sollte man auf jeden Fall , besuchen. Wer Frankreich mag , dem bietet die Haute Provence , einen tiefen Einblick , in das französische Leben , den Genuss , die Freundlichkeit , der Menschen , Landschaften pur - für uns , ein unvergesslich schöner Urlaub. beautifull home, lovely people!

This is an awesome and inspiring location! The property is in a former lavender barn and is fully equipped, it has an authentic kitchen, a bedroom with a delectable bed and a spacious bathroom. It is a prime base for visiting the picturesque villages in the area of a part of the Provence, that’s not overflowing with tourists yet. The heartwarming owners Mike and Rosi are happy to inform you about the area. On top of this, there is a lovely restaurant across the street from the house, run by passionate owners Mona and Johhny. On the menu there are various delicious dishes and a daily changing “plat du jour” And if you are lucky, music will be made, and you will experience a lovely French musical evening. We have had a great time in this wonderful place, surrounding by lovely people. We will definitely be back. With love, Marjan & Rob. Aug. 2019

Schöner Urlaub!

Wir haben im August 2019 unseren zweiwöchigen Urlaub in Lardiers verbracht. Die Vermieter Rosi und Mike, ein sehr sympathisches, aufgeschlossenes und hilfsbereites Paar, haben uns nach unserer Ankunft nett begrüßt und uns die Wohnung gezeigt. Man sah sofort, dass die beiden ein Fabile für Inneneinrichtung haben: die komplette Wohnung ist sehr hübsch und stilvoll eingerichtet. Alles war sehr sauber und auch die Ausstattung der Küche - für Gäste, die viel zubereiten und selbst kochen - war wirklich mehr als gut. Eine kleine geschützte Sitzecke im Freien rundet das Gesamtbild ab. Das Gebäude ist durch die Steinwände gut isoliert und hält die Hitze (wir hatten täglich 30-33°C Außentemperatur) gut ab, sodass die Zimmer durchgängig eine angenehme Temperatur hatten und auch unser Hund keinerlei Probleme mit der Hitze hatte. Durchlüften nach Sonnenuntergang war natürlich trotzdem nötig und man hatte eine angenehme Schlaftemperatur. Die Ferienwohnung ist schön gelegen im kleinen Ort Lardiers. Beim Blick nach draußen entdeckt man sofort ein kleines Restaurant (Café und Bar), das Essen dort schmeckt sehr gut und die (deutsch- und englischsprachige) Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. An ein paar Abenden – gerade, wenn das Restaurant lange geöffnet hatte - wurde es dementsprechend etwas lauter, da das Schlafzimmerfenster direkt zum Restaurant zeigt. Das ist aber auch wirklich der einzige, ganz kleine „Kritikpunkt“. Die Umgebung von Lardiers und insgesamt die Provence hat sehr viel zu bieten. Die meisten Ziele erreicht man innerhalb von einer Autostunde. In nahezu jedem kleinen Dorf in der Umgebung gibt es einmal wöchentlich einen Markt, wo man viele leckere, regionale Produkte zu normalen Preisen kaufen kann. Mike und Rosi standen jederzeit für Fragen aller Art zur Verfügung. Wir würden definitiv wiederkommen und empfehlen die Ferienwohnung gern an Freunde und Bekannte weiter. Gelebte Gastfreundlichkeit in La Grange de la Lavande !!!

Wir hatten Glück, kurzfristig Ende Oktober noch diese wunderschöne Wohnung mieten zu können. Dies sogar mit unseren beiden Hunden. Rosi und Mike haben wir sofort in unser Herz geschlossen. Mike versorgte uns mit guten Tipps für Tagesausflüge und Restaurant Empfehlungen. Die Wohnung ist sehr urig und mit viel Geschmack eingerichtet.Das Bad verfügt über eine große Dusche. Das Schlafzimmer ist mit zwei Schränken ausgestattet. Das Bett ist sehr bequem und wir konnten sehr gut darin schlafen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Schade war, dass das Cafe gegenüber geschlossen war. Dieses Domiziel ist insbesonders für Aktivurlauber zu empfehlen. Sehenswürdigkeiten sind in allen Himmelsrichtungen zu finden. Die Provence ist auch im Herbst empfehlenswert.

Liebevoll gestaltete Unterkunft in einem kleinen Bergdorf in der Haute-Provence

Die Einliegerwohnung mit eigenem Eingang und Terrasse ist komfortabel ausgestattet, besonders die gemütliche Wohn-Küche bietet alles, was das Herz eines Hobbykochs oder einer Hobbyköchin begehrt. Wir waren für 10 Tage im Oktober hier und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Dazu beigetragen hat auch ein leicht zu bedienender Pellet-Ofen, der an den schon kühlen Abenden schnell für Wärme gesorgt hat. Die Räume sind bis ins Detail liebevoll gestaltet und bieten ausreichend Platz für zwei. Unsere Vermieter Rosi und Mike wohnen im anderen Teil des Hauses. Sie haben uns sehr herzlich empfangen und uns viele gute Tips für Ausflüge in die Umgebung gegeben. Vielen Dank euch beiden für die tolle Betreuung. Wir würden gerne einmal wieder kommen, wenn der Lavendel blüht.

Wunderbares Domizil mit herzlichen Gastgebern

Wir waren Ende August 2018 in La Grange und haben jeden Tag genossen. Die Bilder des Grange de la Lavende entsprechen zu 100% der Wirklichkeit und die Wohnküche ist ein Traum. Lardiers ist ein wunderbar ruhiger Ort von dem aus man großartige Ausflüge in alle vier Himmelsrichtungen starten kann und auch wenn am Ort selbst kein Geschäft ist, so ist man mit dem Auto doch sehr schnell in den beiden malerischen Orten Banon oder Forcalquier, in denen an wechselnden Tagen Märkte stattfinden wo man leckere regionale Produkte kaufen kann. In Forcalquier gibt es auch einen großen hervorragend sortierten Supermarkt, in dem man alles notwendige einkaufen kann. Rosi und Michael waren sehr sehr herzliche Gastgeber, die einen ganz ausgezeichnet mit Informationen versorgten, was Ausflugsziele in der näheren oder auch weiteren Umgebung angeht. Wir würden auf jeden Fall gerne wieder nach Lardiers zurückkehren! Und wer das tut, sollte das auf jeden Fall bei der Zufahrt nach Lardiers mit heruntergelassen Fensterscheiben tun - der Duft des Lavendels hängt auch nach der Blütezeit noch sehr wahrnehmbar in der Luft

Excellent séjour dans un beau lieu, cadre agréable et accueil chaleureux

Le logement est vraiment très spacieux pour deux personnes. C'est confortable, joliment décoré et frais pour la saison, ce qui n'est pas négligeable (période du 15 août) Rosy et Mike nous accueille avec le sourire et sont à notre disposition si besoin. Ma note est de 5/5, malgré les désagréments de la TV en anglais seulement, mais Mike à promis d'y remédier et un WIFI un peu lent, mais quand on est en vacances dans une aussi belle région, la TV et Internet c'est pas trop important. Je conseille ce t endroit, si vous voulez découvrir une superbe région française

Inspirierende Februarwoche in La Grange de la Lavande

Aufgrund der Wetterprognosen stand uns eine kühle Februarwoche bevor. Hätten wir nicht doch lieber auf die Kanaren fliegen sollen? Dachten wir, aber das kann ja jeder. Es sollte die Haute-Provence werden, weil wir es wollten und weil uns schon im Vorfeld die Bilder von La Grange de la Lavande gefielen. Und wir wurden von unseren Erwartungen sogar noch übertroffen. Wir hatten fast jeden Tag Sonne, und so, dass wir draußen, zwar in der warmen Jacke, in den herrlichen typischen Cafés saßen und den obligatorischen Kaffee tranken, nach einem ausgiebigen vielfältig bunten Marktbesuch. Wenn man ein Croissant dazu wollte, durfte man es sich vom netten Bäcker nebenan holen. Einfach, unkompliziert und nach französischer Lebensart. Das Ambiente von Mike und Rosi bot alles, was man brauchte, und dazu auch noch stilvoll und mit viel Liebe zusammen gesammelt. Es war immer gemütlich und komfortabel warm, dank eines neu installierten Pelletsofen, der getreu zu dieser Zeit seine Dienste tat. Da wir gerne kochen, bot die perfekt ausgestattete Küche alles, um sich auszuprobieren. Lardiers ist ein landschaftlich wunderschön gelegter ruhiger Ort, und ideal, um alles zu erreichen. Ganz toll fanden wir, das gleich gegenüber ein Café-Restaurant war, in dem wir eine sehr leckere Küche kennengelernt und genossen haben. Zu dieser Jahreszeit für uns exklusiv, im Sommer muß man dort reservieren. Kein Wunder! Der größte Dank gilt Mike und Rosi, dass sie so ein schönes Ambiente erschaffen haben und dieses Reisenden zur Verfügung stellen. Sie sind unendlich hilfsbereit, und stets freundlich darum bemüht, dass man sich wohlfühlt. Besonders bei Fragen über die Region usw. wissen sie guten Rat und Vorschläge. Es war eine erholsame und unvergessliche Woche und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Winter break in La Grange de la Lavande

We chose La Grange de la Lavande because it seemed to be a nice and intimate place to spent a week early February in the Provence far away from the skiing crowd. And right we were. Lardiers is a small village but it is certainly not deserted. We did not encounter any difficulties to find supplies in the nearby villages (Banon( 10 min): bakery - butcher - small supermarket and the weekly market / Focalquier: lots of shops). The region is very suited for hiking. La Grange is a charming cubbyhole with all the modern comfort available. Plenty of space for cooking, dishwasher, washing machine, etc. The wifi is excellent and compensates for the weak 3G connection downstairs. Even during this winter period, -5 C at night, the place was well heated thanks to the brand new pellet stove downstairs and electrical convectors upstairs. Upstairs there is a bedroom that can be reached by a rather narrow, though very safe winding stair. Mike, the owner, has an ingenious solution to get the luggage upstairs without any effort or worries. The bed has got a perfect matrass and the bathroom is up to the standards of the rest of La Grange; luxurious. The owners, Mike and Rosi, live discreetly in another part of the house. They are very helpful charming people with excellent knowledge of the region, and not only of the touristic part of it, as I discovered after a few days when I severely broke my wrist during an innocent hike. Mike and Rosi were available to help where they could, did look after our dog while we were in hospital (Manosque, excellent) for two days, without being intrusive however. Our gratitude to them for this. The entire house is spotlessly clean. You can feel that Mike and Rosi are proud of what they achieved in their old barn. They have all reasons to be so. We will come back, we will try to stay on our feet and really enjoy La Grange and the region.

Great place to relax, very clean and neat, all the comforts that you need, plenty of space.

Mike and Rosi were great hosts, very cheerful and accommodating. They were very helpful with directions to the area, and very good with places to see and things to do in the region. They did a fantastic job converting a barn into a very comfortably living area.The village has some old world charm. While the homes were old they were in very good shape. The village was quiet and restful. If you are looking to get away from the crowds this is a good place to go. We went during the winter holidays and the unit was warm and relaxing, good to unwind. Many street markets in the area. We did not have any issues or problems with our time there. It went very smoothly.

Pretty, lovely place and lovely people

We really enjoyed our stay in the La Grange de la Lavande. It was clean, lovely furnished and it´s located in the heart of Provance, with many of lavender fields and old villages. :) Rosi and Mike were very helpful, they gave us many tipps about beautiful places to visit, such as the amazing lake, La Perle du Verdon. The La Grange de la Lavande is a perfect accommodation for a perfect Provance-trip. :) I can only recommend it!

Lardiers offered everything promised.

Lardiers is a very small village near nothing. The nearest town is 15 KM away, o everything must be done by car. That said, the renovated barn was very nice. The only problem was that there is no WC downstairs and the spiral staircase was difficult for my aged knees. Mike and Rosie are very charming and very helpful; Mike gave us a list of nearby attractions and road trips that allowed us to explore and enjoy Provence. I would recommend this property very highly to people who enjoy exploring by car, or just relaxing in the village and preparing one's own meals. Markets are available in nearby town that provide many local products, so cooking and eating can be a real pleasure.

Superb

Our time in Lardiers was superb. We enjoyed immensely our stay with Rosie and Michael. Ther were very hospitable in enhancing our time with suggestions for various trips and markets in the area. The accommodations were tastefully appointed, clea, and user friendly. Kitchen was delightful and internet access was consistently available. We recommend highly.

Mike & Rosi purchased the old lavender barn in 2009, which had change very little during it's very long history. Formally owned by the Chateau of Lardiers, where the owners would have brought the lavender from their fields to distil into essence of lavender at the old barn, before transporting the oil's to Marseille. Mike & Rosi were able to draw on their years of experience restoring old properties and their former business activities.

Why they chose this property

We chose an undeveloped ancient barn, thus giving us the opportunity to design and create a home to our taste, whilst providing a separate accommodation to generate further income.
