About this property
Lookout Point- cozy home on Barbee Chain of Lakes
About this space
A relaxing lakeside cottage on Irish Lake. Newly renovated & decorated with you in mind. Fun on/off the water await you AND have a beautiful view of the lake by the fire! Irish Lake is part of Barbee Chain of Lakes. Its serene waters are perfect for fishing, swimming & boating. If you choose to bring your own boat you have a private dock in your backyard. No boat? No worries…Take a trip around the lake in one of our 4 kayaks & play indoor/outdoor games (corn hole etc). Life is good at the lake!
The space
The home is a peaceful property on Irish Lake (2nd biggest lake on the Barbee Chain of Lakes) offering beautiful views in and outside of the home, prime fishing and lots of on/off-water fun!
Excellent location as the home is centrally located to most of Indiana’s top attractions. Southbend 30 mi (Notre Dame!), Fort Wayne 45 mi (zoo, museums & gardens), Nappanee 9 mi (historic shopping venues, a challenging round of golf, and a great cup of coffee at Main Street Roasters), Shipshewana 30 mi (one-of-a-kind destination for visitors to experience the simplicity of Amish culture, Blue Gate restaurant & theater, Mennonite Museum & the famous auction/flea market etc), Indiana Dunes National Park and sandy Lake Michigan beach 64 mi are just a few of what Indiana has to offer visitors.
Kosciusko County offers a variety of outdoor activities including fishing, biking, hiking, geocaching, golf, antiques and much more! It’s a one of a kind experience that you will return to year after year as there’s too much to do in just one visit!
The speed limit for the Barbee Chain of Lakes is 10 mph, with the exception of the Big Barbee which has an open speed limit. A public boat ramp is located on the north side of Kuhn Lake and is accessible from SR 13. To access Tippecanoe Lake, boaters must pass through a tunnel and through a set of locks. Any boat under 16’ in length can use the manual locks, but pontoons and larger boats can’t reach the locks because of the tunnel under the road. All lakes are prime fishing spots for a variety of fish, including largemouth bass, bluegill, perch, pike, sunfish and walleye, just to name a few.
This is sure to be your vacation home (without the hassle of maintenance & upkeep!) that you will return to over and over again. Relax, unwind and enjoy!
Guest access
There is an empty grass lot on north side of the home and a neighbor to the south of the home. The back yard faces the East with beautiful sunrises and cooler evening as the sun sets. The driveway can accommodate multiple cars. And the garage is furnished giving you extra space for games & relaxation. The empty lot next to us is not a part of the property. The property line by the empty lot is marked by the street with a 2 ft high orange stake. The property line runs from the street to the edge of the kayak ramp. You have access to the kayak ramp but not the grass lot north of the ramp. The south side property line between the 2 homes is also marked. You have access to the bench on the sea wall and that is where our property line is located. The neighbors property begins at the edge of the bench. Please keep in mind the piers do not belong to us. We want to be considerate of the neighbors; Please contact us if you have any questions. Thank you!
