The word rustic comes to mind. Location was an awesome country setting with a pond. We caught a few small bass and bluegills. It is definitely off the beaten path. Appears to be an old farm house. Beds, tv, shower were all good. Could use some updates.
Very quaint house in the country! Reminded us of our grandparents' house. Very clean and well stocked for guests. Had plenty of fans/heaters for guests' comfort. Peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed it!

It’s a neat property with fun decor. Comfy bed. Enjoyed the fire pit.
Great place and cozy, country home we stayed at four nights. Quiet setting, views, little charming location. Home was nice, large eat in kitchen, plenty of room for 5 adults. Location near Monteagle
Great location within a relatively easy 20 min drive from The Caverns. There is a nice kitchen with all the amenities and a lovely outdoor dining area to make a nice dinner before heading to the show. Will book again if I am in the area.
It reminds me of my old home place! Super inviting and cozy! We stayed here so that we could go to a concert at The Caverns that are about 15 mins away. Had a wonderful time at the beautiful homestead!
We had a short but lovely stay on our way to see Sewanee University. The house has everything you’d need and the land is beautiful. Sat out in the morning with coffee listening to roosters and birds. Loved it!
Rooster's Roost is a delightful place to stay, just minutes from Monteagle and the Fiery Gizzard trail. My sweetheart and I try to hike Fiery Gizzard at least once a year and this has been our favorite stay of the last few years. We definitely recommend.
The house is cute and 3 bedrooms met our needs. Having one bathroom is challenging and one of the bedrooms doesn't have a door and opens to the foyer. The noise from the interstate can be loud at times, but the yard is beautiful and we loved the outdoor space with the firepit. We would stay there again.
Wish we had been in the area for a longer stay. The house was decorated beautifully. Loved the style. Our puppy loved running around the yard. She is used to the space at home. Makes for a tired puppy at bedtime! Would definitely stay again if in the area.
We stayed two nights on our way down south. The seclusion of the property brought us the feeling of being able to relax into our vacation immediately. Restaurants were available by a very scenic and memorable drive. Being able to stay in a historic location was a stunning experience. Large bedrooms, great mattresses, kitchen and bath. Additional cozy seating to be able to watch the games would bring this property to perfection. We will be back!
We loved our stay at the property. I am 6'6" so if you are tall you are going to have to duck quite a bit. Also, we emailed the property manager twice with no response to either email when we were staying at Roosters Roost. We asked about the propane for the BBQ if they had another tank and if the TV in the bedroom had Roku. Beside that my wife and i loved our stay, we took ealks on the beautiful backwood roads, we sat in the backyard and enjoyed eatching the deer, the lightning bugs, the butterflies, the mountains. This place is so nice and right up our alley. You will love it as well.
Holiday weekend, Family Hiking in the Greeter Falls area.
comfortable space, relaxing porch. Campfire supplies and Grills outdoor available, but didn't use.
Adequate kitchen and towels for 6 guests
My husband and I were evacuated from Helene and that was combined with a visit to our daughter at a nearby college. Our trip had its ups and downs, but our accommodations couldn’t have been better. The flexibility of the host and the well appointed home made a difficult situations much better!
This 3 bedroom house had all we needed for our visit to The Caverns. Nice country setting with fire pit and outdoor patio seating and front porch seating. Great value and great location. The living area was very small, but we didn’t spend time inside so not an issue. The space heater in one bedroom was a little noisy. Overall we would come back due to the close location to The Caverns.
This beautiful historic property was just what we needed for our brief stay in the area. We arrived late, unfortunately, but with enough time to cook a meal in the kitchen and explore a bit before turning in. Everything we needed was at hand. All of the beds were so comfortable. We rose early and visited the chickens, made coffee and poked around a bit, before we had to take off again. It was just right for our family of 2 adults + 2 teenagers, visiting the university. I wish we’d had longer to stay, but enjoyed our short visit!
We throughly enjoyed our stay at this sweet home! We were in town for a concert at the Caverns and although we didn’t spend much time at the home, we left wanting more! The house was perfect for 3 couples and the 1 bathroom wasn’t really an issue for us. Our only draw back, was that there was no central air conditioning, but the fans provided in the home helped circulate the cool air from the wall unit in the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked and we really enjoyed having a wonderful fire on such a beautiful night. Overall, it was a wonderful stay- we’ll be back! Oh! and if you visit, don’t forget your fishing poles!
We were in the area for a concert at The Cavern’s. It’s a bit of a drive considering the backroads, but not bad. We wish it had been a summer stay where we could have enjoyed the outside of the property more. Cute back patio with grill and fire pit, pond and chickens on the property. There were space heaters in each room so we stayed very comfy. The kitchen has everything you would need. Fun little getaway in a rustic cabin/home on a nice patch of land in the countryside.
It was unexpectedly hot for September when we stayed in the cabin. I was surprised to find one window air conditioner in the kitchen and a mobile a/c in one of the 3 bedrooms. There were floor fans in every room. The a/c did not cool our room well. The fan was helpful. We
liked the cabin and location. I
