We really enjoyed our time. House was perfect for our family of 5. Lake was great and the cove was nice and quiet for my kids. The power to the house was accidentally cut as part of nearby construction and we had our night without power reimbursed. This was much appreciated.

I appreciate your patience with that situation and I'm happy to hear you still had a great trip!
This property is in a perfect location and was everything and more that we had hoped for. The beach area was safe for the kids and they were able to swim and fish right from the dock. This house had everything that we needed. We had 4 adults and 4 children and never felt crowded. Mamma Moose and her two babies came and visited us for dinner one night on the lake! I can't wait to book this house again!

I am so happy you had such a wonderful trip! It is a magical place - a great place to make memories with your family. How cool to see the mamma moose and her babies!
Loved our stay at the bunkhouse cabin in island park. Very well equipped with everything necessary to make our visit very enjoyable. Our checkout time given in my instructions online was 11am however instructions at the cabin were 10am. Cleaning lady came at 10am. Quite confusing. I would definitely recommend this cabin as a lovely place to stay.

I am sorry for the confusion - I have corrected the literature to reflect the 10 am checkout. Our cleaning lady, Emma, is very prompt because she likes to make sure the cabin is spotless for the next visitor. She is an exceptional cleaner!

Perfect Cabin
We were visiting Island Park for a friend's wedding at Lakeside Lodge. We originally booked a room there, but had second thoughts. A month before the wedding I found this listing on HomeAway. Darryl was highly responsive and helpful. It made the trip so much more enjoyable to be able to have our own private space. The cabin was sparking clean when we arrived. Everything was in good working order. Our daughter loved playing in the sand and splashing in the lake. Lakeside Lodge was a short 1/2 mile walk away. I would recommend this cabin to anyone. We just had our family of 3 there, but easily could have had a second family with us.

I’m so glad you enjoyed yourselves, Bill’s Island is a special place. Your kind comments were greatly appreciated and I’m very glad our cabin was comfortable for you and your family. Hope to see you again!
Best,
Darryl
The Location was good to explore Yellowstone from the West gate. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The Kitchen was well stocked. It was nice to have a washer and dryer. Lots of sleeping quarters. We managed fine with one bathroom for 4 adults. The water in the shower was warm and had great water pressure. It is unfortunate the water level in the lake was so low in September. The description noted this, but if I were to book again, I would choose differently based on this plus the cost of this home per night, service fee's and cleaning fee. Though the home looks clean on the surface, it could use a deep clean. There was a layer of dust on one of the window sills by the couch that I cleaned off and there were things forgotten and left under the bed and the clothing rack in the bedroom from previous guests along with many crumbs and food particles under under the couch. I normally don't get on the floor to look, but we had misplaced our phone charger and was looking for it. If you are allergic to dust, like myself and my husband make sure to bring your allergy medicine.

Thanks for your honest review. We have replaced the vacuum in the cabin as I discovered the old one was not containing the dust. Cleanliness is very important to me as I suffer from allergies too and we use the cabins a lot during the summer.
The cabin is in a beautiful location; not far from Yellowstone. It is well stocked and comfortable. It is a great place for families. Easy communication/quick responses from the host.
This was the perfect location for our family to stay while we explored Yellowstone. The drive to the West Yellowstone Entrance was beautiful and we enjoyed looking for wildlife along the way. We loved the cabin so much that we actually chose to skip sightseeing one day and stayed around the cabin the entire day to play on the lake and explore the Island Park area. The cabin was well stocked, clean, and the inside is so charming.

We often find we defer our plans to just stay at the cabin and relax. It is so dreamy to sit by the lakeside and watch the kids play or look for eagles. I am glad you were able to slow down and enjoy the simple cabin life!
We had an amazing time in this beautiful lakeside home. We had 4 kids with us and they spent every minute they could in the lake and on the kayaks. The home was clean and we were grateful to have all the amenities. Bills island is like it’s own little oasis and the drive to the park was easy. Can’t wait to go back!

Thanks Karla - I am so glad you had a great visit. There is nothing more fun than playing in the lake. Bill's Island really is a special place. Glad you could enjoy!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was peaceful and beautiful. Very clean and every cooking utensil you would need. Even had outdoor grill. Plenty of space and the dvd and game selection was good. Great proximity to the west Yellowstone entrance. We would highly recommend this property.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay! Our goal is to have everything you need and nothing that you don't so that your stay is fully relaxing and fun!
We had a great stay. The cabin is well furnished and comfortable. Pots and pans are new and there's plenty of hooks everywhere , which was nice for drying our snow gear. There is a little bit of magic with the light switches, but we figured it out. We were there for the Thanksgiving weekend, there was plenty of snow, so we could enjoy many recreation opportunities the area has to offer.

Thanks Lise - so glad you were able to enjoy your stay. Yes, the switches take a little magic sometimes - typical quirky cabin stuff!
Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Bunkhouse. The location and proximity to Yellowstone can't be beat! Beds were very comfortable, linens were lush and nice. Decor and styling of the cabin is well done, but there are definitely a few minor things that need work.
Upon arrival, there was a set of sheets in the washer that were soaking wet and smelled like mildew from sitting. The handles on the laundry doors are missing, there are only screwheads sticking out. The doors were also coated in a layer of dust. The dryer takes several cycles to get even a small load of towels dried. This was very frustrating the day before we left since we were asked to wash extra towels on our own.
There is only one light outside leading to the beach, and the bulb is hanging by exposed wires. We replaced the bulb and the GFI had to be reset, but it's only a matter of time before it goes out again.
While there is no central heating, the individual room heaters and the fireplace do a great job of warming up the cabin! It did take us a few minutes to figure things out since we didn't know about it ahead of time. Once we figured it out though we were very comfortable.
The dilapidated treehouse on the beach is a serious safety hazard and needs to either be repaired or completely removed.
Drain in the shower doesn't work, but it wasn't an issue. We knew about it going in, and the amazing water pressure in the shower more than made up for it! Thanks to previous reviews we knew that the hot water was limited, so we were able to space out our showers.
The propane tank for the grill was completely empty when we arrived, so we filled it at Robin's Roost.
Space in the cabin is VERY limited, and the extra microwave on the counter takes up A LOT of much needed space.
Overall we were pleased with our stay, it was quiet and peaceful at the cabin. We loved waking up in the morning and watching the sunrise over the lake from the beach. Perfect way to start your day! Little things aside, we enjoyed our time here.

Thanks for the very thorough review. As you pointed out the tree house needed to be removed and it has been taken down since you were there. We also replaced the dryer and over stove microwave, so the kitchen space is increased as we don't have the microwave on the counter anymore. It is a small cozy cabin, so we try to utilize space as best we can!
The cabin was darling! It was all it said it was. We enjoyed our time there. I loved how we could walk to the lodge and have breakfast. Would love to come back next year.
The cabin is located on Bill’s Island and the perfect distance away from the hustle and bustle of Yellowstone. It was nice to go to the park but then stay in peace and serenity away from the crowds. My kids loved the sleeping loft and my husband and I loved the views. The property management was helpful and friendly . I would highly recommend this cabin!
Overall great property. Concerns that I had during my stay were standing water in the bath tub while showering as well as running out of hot water after waiting hours after previous showers.
Beautiful place to stay! Kids loved the upstairs, especially that they could sleep in while the adults were able to wake up and enjoy their coffee and sunrise. Would have loved to be able to open the front door with a screen door, just for more of the amazing fresh pine air! Great vacation to Yellowstone!

Thanks for your kind review! We have considered a screen door for the front door, but just have never felt the need for one as the cabin stays cool all summer long and the bugs are minimal.
Adorable cabin! Love that the lake is right there in front to enjoy. It was very relaxing and the kids had fun. I booked it again for next year-can’t wait!

We are so glad you loved it enough to book next year! Looking forward to your return.
Everything about this place was great. We stayed at several locations over the course of our vacation and no other place was as well stocked and comfortable as this was. Just about every amenity you can think of was provided. Everything was high quality from the pots/pans to the towels and sheets. We would have stayed here for the entire trip if we had the choice. The only thing I would change if it were possible would be to have an extra bathroom. We knew there was only one going into it, but coordinating bathroom use between eight people was a little challenging. Everything else was a perfect fit and made us feel right at home.
The biggest hits were the dock and the interior decorating. The kids loved swimming around the dock and catching crawdads and minnows. We brought our own kayaks and life-jackets, but used the ones supplied as well. We were a little worried about the shared beach/dock, but enjoyed the neighbors and got a-long great. The great part about the location on the lake is that you are tucked back in a corner and don't get all the boat/jet ski traffic that you do in other locations. We never had to worry about the kids getting run over!
The cabin has been updated with a little bit of a modern flair while still keeping the rustic cabin feel. Seating was plentiful and comfortable. A good stock of DVDs gave us a nice option for a movie night without the need of streaming. The shower head had a little too much flow and overwhelms the drain a little bit, but nothing to be worried about.
We saw some concerns over parking space, but there was plenty to go around for us with two min vans. The other cabin even had several trucks with UTVs without issue.
In the future this will most definitely be our go-to location when we return!

Just a 30 minute, picturesque drive from West Yellowstone and the gate. The BunkHouse had everything we needed! Clean fresh linens, cooking utensils and nice dishes, a fabulous coffee bar, a great washer /dryer, kayaks and a little fishing dock. We enjoyed all of it so much and it made our much-needed Yellowstone get away very special for our family.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! It is a great option for a Yellowstone vacation because you really get to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the area while being close enough to adventure into the park and outlying areas. I hope you will come again.
Our experience in the bunkhouse was the perfect holiday! This lakeside cabin comes with all of the detail, inside and out, that made our stay a joy! The cabin has an updated, and lovely decor. It is well stocked and included the "extras" which made our stay enjoyable. We used the games with our grandchildren, kitchen essentials, kayaks and life vests, firewood for the many evening campfires and even the sunglasses that were hanging on the hooks!
The lake was and pristine perfect for canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and even rental of the SeaDoo jet skis. We have not rented jet skis in our lifetime and it was a definite crowd pleaser in our family!
Rent this location and you are certain to be accommodated by Jessica and have a delightful holiday!
