Private, Secluded, Spacious, Short walk to beach, Sound, Ocean View from deck

Short walk to the beach, or drive/park and enjoy your day. We are a Friday to Friday summer rental (june-august) to help save guests from waiting in OBX Saturday traffic Fabulous, set on 10 acres surrounded by live oak trees and hundreds of acres of open space---This home is set apart and unique. Access to the house requires four wheel drive--there is no way to the house except by driving on the beach.

Total privacy--just you and the wild horses that may walk through the yard while you enjoy the private pool. Enjoy the beach and come back to your own oasis. Bedrooms are spacious, and plenty of space for your family and friends to enjoy each other and then slip away for privacy. Enjoy coffee on the top deck looking over the trees (see aerial photos) The property really is tucked away from the hustle and bustle--but close to the beach. We are close to the wildlife reserves, and we see Osprey and Swans flying overhead often. The nighttime is beautiful with stars above.

Our house has large rooms and plenty of space, so you will not step on top of each other. the fact that we are not oceanfront is a plus--no vehicles driving by your home night and day. Outdoor sitting areas and a refrigerator in the pool house make it convenient to enjoy nature.

We offer amenities to keep you occupied in the event of rain. The house has a well stocked kitchen (equipment), comfortable beds, nice towels, and books and games. DirectTV.

We want to make your experience an excellent one so you will come back!

We have five good sized bedrooms-with the smallest for the youngsters (full size bunk beds). Each bedroom allows you to get away from the family for a while and comfortably read a book. Plenty of deck space too! Due to severe allergies this house is an animal free house.

Great location, great house!

Clean, big enough for our family. The 2.5 fridges were just the right space for all the food/drinks . Loved the location and seclusion. Seeing the horses grazing and playing in the field next to the house daily. More kitchen gadgets than most rentals was very nice. The hosts were wonderful!

We had a great time in this house. The house was immaculate, kitchen stocked with everything we needed to cook and have a wonderful dining experience. TVs in every bedroom, pingpong, pool table, games,.... it all kept us happy and together for the entire time even when it rained. The house was so clean and the hosts answered any questions we had immediately! Best house on the beach without a doubt!

Beautiful house and wonderful owners

What an awesome house. We loved the view from the widows walk you could see both the sound and the ocean. Spent every afternoon up there enjoying the sunset. The house is beautiful and well maintained. Elizabeth and Bill were both very attentive. Loved the game room, had fun with the fooseball, pool table and ping pong tournaments. Loads of family fun! What a great family vacation. Can't wait until next year!!

A Serene Location

We had a wonderful time at your property! We seen so many wild horses every day, right from the home! They even looked through the windows! We all enjoyed the game room and the pool! The house had so much to offer. We didn't even get bored when it rained. We also seen the most beautiful sunsets from the rooftop deck! Just gorgeous views! Thank you so much! We will be back! :)

Beautiful secluded property with abundant wild horses. Fun multi-level house, large enough for many people of all ages. Pool deck with hot tub and pool house are focal point of providing entertainment for children and sun lovers, very clean and convenient. Great stay.

This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks and I don’t think we would stay anywhere else. The property is very secluded and if you don’t mind driving up the beach to get to the house, you have your own private estate! The house was great, very spacious and clean. The kids loved the pool! Elizabeth and Bill were very nice and accommodating! This place is a 10!

Best Vacation Home Yet

What an absolute gem of a home. We were so lucky to find such a beautiful, hidden escape. The house is located a hop skip and a jump from the beach. It is well stocked and basically has everything you need to enjoy a memorable week. The pool was our favorite part of the trip!

We will be back!

We loved staying at Hidden Oak, and wish we had booked again this year, as our week is already taken! I don't even think we will come to the area if we can not stay in this house. It made the vacation so special to be in complete privacy, which is not easy to get on the outer banks, and to have such a well appointed home to come back to. The house was clean, well furnished and felt like HOME not some big rental machine. You can tell the owners want to make your staff great, as they personally met us when we got to the house and showed us around. If something happened, boom they were right there to fix it (and all we had was breaker flip as we were running too many cooking gadgets on the back deck making a gourmet meal under the stars! I highly recommend you don't miss this one!

Had so much fun with family!

our whole family loved the house and its location. We were able to really enjoy our family time together and to see the stars at night. Being back from the oceanfront was great as well. We enjoyed the folks on the beach during the day and then retreated to our private 10 acre estate. This is not something you can find often at the beach and we are very glad that there is a house like this. The house was very clean and very well stocked.

Peaceful, beautiful, like home

We so enjoyed our stay at Hidden Oak. The house was perfectly clean, big enough for our family of 12 to relax and have privacy in the house and outside. The grounds are amazing! The kids were able to play pool, ping pong, foos ball, the ladies to enjoy wine in the wonderful kitchen, and the men watch different sports on the TVs throughout the house. The view from the top deck at sunset over the sound is unparalleled! We will be back for sure!

The best place in the off road!

We have vacationed in this areas for 20 years. Last year we found this hidden gem. What a wonderful home--it isnt a vacation rental in its look and feel. We felt like we were at a luxury house of one of our family members. It is so private and tucked away. Why we rented ocean fronts for years--with all the people in front of the house day and night is beyond me! Never again, not if this house is available. We were worried it might be too far to walk. Let me assure you that it isnt! We loved taking our jeep out to the ocean, sitting for the day and then coming back to this treasure chest! It is so hot this time of year anyway we enjoyed being able to not have to tote bags of things down to the beach on a hot hot day! The pool was unbelievable! The stars wonderful. We couldnt hear anyone. The horses came to visit every day and we even saw a wild pig! What a treat. At night we watched the sunset over the sound, cocktail in hand on the upper deck. Don't miss out! We missed our preferred date this year, so we hope to rearrange our travel to be able to rent this home!

An Absolute Fairytale Vacation

As soon as we drove over the hill onto the property and saw the house we were mesmerized and we knew it was going to be a memorable week. The landscaping and property alone is beautiful. Bill and Elizabeth were there upon our arrival and were so accommodating and helpful. We have been vacationing in the Outer Banks, Carova area for 10+ years and have never had such wonderful hospitality. They gave us a complete overview of the house, which was more than helpful, as this is a huge house. Everything in the house is so organized and clean that it makes your vacation even better. Everything you could possibly need in a kitchen is there. The horses roamed the property all week, it was amazing. We sat up on the top roof/deck every night looking at the ocean and you can still hear the waves crash even from where you are. Our kids had a blast, we had five children with us, the house entertained them, we could have just stayed around the house all week and they would have been thrilled. We will be back next year!!! No doubt!! Thank you Bill and Elizabeth for such a fun, relaxing, memorable week. I did not want to go home. See you next year!!!

WONDERFUL RETREAT

This was such a family retreat for us--and such a treat! We felt like we were on a private estate--and we were! The home was large, clean, and wonderful--with a killer game room and open space--The views of the sound the sea were spot on from the top deck. I guess everyone should stay here--but then we might not get to stay as often! The folks were friendly as could be. All and all so worth the drive and experience!

So private! And luxurious!

The house is set back so that you don't see anyone! We were amazed at house peaceful and unique the property was. The house is big--and there are loads of photos missing from VRBO--the owner should put some more up of the game room, the pool house, and the other bedrooms. The house has everything we needed and it was the perfect place for our family. Perfect and we will be back! The listing is accurate, but the house better than the listing makes it appear! the appearance is even better. It was so well cleaned and scrubbed! The sheets and towels were awesome. The owners were so very helpful with all our crazy questions! I would recommend this to everyone!

This is the most peaceful place on the outer banks and this house is totally private. Other houses have neighboring houses right next door == not here! The top deck has wonderful views
