We had a great experience. The location was perfect for us. The back stairs was a little difficult walking in snow boots but we knew it was on the upper level. We would go back for sure

Great stay on Sugar Mountain!
The unit was clean and well stocked with kitchen and laundry items. We loved the deck with a swing. It was perfect for drinking our morning coffee! Convenient location. We could see the ski lift, yet felt like we still had privacy. The beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
Great location however this property didn’t have ac like it said in the listing.

perfect location
Parking for skiing is a huge problem at Sugar Mtn, especially on busy days. This property allows you to walk directly onto the slopes and has a great view. Interior is nicely decorated, clean, and well equipped.
Great stay but it seemed housekeeping was interrupted before finishing. Towels left wet in washing machine and linens cleaned but not on bed. Judging by other reviews this was an anomaly. Would stay again.

Beautiful condo but A LOT of stairs!
This listing did not mention having stairs and there are two flights that you have to go down to get to the unit. We tried to change once we arrived and saw the amount of stairs and Vacasa was not willing to help us at all. No chance of a wheelchair or someone who has mobility issues to get into this condo and it is not on the listing.

Disappointing
The house was not clean when we arrived. Dirty glass and silverware in the sink, leftover food in fridge, trash was not taken out, kitchen counters and stovetop were not clean, dishwasher full of semi-clean dishes (full of so many pots/pans/glasses/cup/dishes that none of the pans were clean, and most of the silverware needed to be rewashed). I’m not sure that the bed was remade in the master - sheets were unkempt under the comforter at any rate which did not give the most confidence considering how dirty the kitchen was. A few other cleanliness issues. We spent some time cleaning and wiping counters when we arrived so we could use the kitchen. The management company said the right things (when not a chat bot responding) but none of the issues with the dirty space were resolved by them and they did not refund any of the cleaning fees. I feel bad for the owners who probably have no idea how poorly the cleaning crew handled their space.
Also, the pictures on VRBO suggest a nice entrance to the unit - in fact it is 3 short exterior flights of stairs down from parking (not a big deal) through a mildewy stairwell corridor to a bottom floor unit. Thankfully there was air conditioning because you do not want to open the bedroom windows since they look out under the wood deck stairwell at the front of the unit.
Close to Banner Elk and slopes. Overall very disappointing and would not stay again.

We were very pleased with the apartment. It has everything to make your stay great and comfortable. There is an easy access to the slopes that was very important to us.
Had a great time skiing with our son who was learning for the first time. Could walk to the slopes every day pretty easily. Property was as advertised and suited our visit perfectly.

We loved the ease of access to the slopes! The place was clean and we utilized some of the available board games, and spent every evening enjoying the fireplace! Easy to find the place, easy parking, and was comfortable!
Great location, as described, ski in/out condo. Kitchen stocked with all you would need, comfy and cozy den and bedrooms

Moldy
This is a basement condo. As soon as we entered the condo, we were overpowered with the smell of mold. We opened the sliding door to get fresh air in, but opening other windows just brought in more mold since the other windows are at ground level under a deck. A dehumidifier in the living room and obvious water damage in the kitchen floor were dead giveaways. When I contacted the owner, he suggested running the air conditioner. We had to stay that night due to sold out hotels, but left the next morning. The owner claims that everything is OK, and refused any refund. Mold is really dangerous and can cause some long term health conditions.

We fully expected this review from our guest. They had originally texted that they were 2 adults with 2 young, respectful kids (7 & 8) coming to the mountains for some fun in the snow. At 7:39 the night of arrival, we received several messages, via VRBO and text messages, that they may be checking out early because the condo is moldy smelling. They advised that they would leave that night if they didn't have their 2 kids in bed.
The next morning, we received a request for a full refund. The request was, “Would you please consider a full refund as I believe that the condo should be rented out while in that moldy condition and it ruined our vacation since area hotels are full, so we are headed home today.”
Our condo is on the lower level of Bee Branch. However, as can be seen from the photos, all lower-level units open to the ski slopes. Since we have never experienced this before, or had any complaints like this, my wife and I decided to drive up the following morning and evaluate the situation. We advised that we were several hours away so it will be the following day before we could decide.
I am personally allergic to mold and mildew and, since we use the condo ourselves and in the abundance of caution, we wanted to follow up on the situation. After talking with Property Management, the owners of BB1, who were there recently and on the same level, the current guest in BB2, also on the same level who came over to our unit at our request, housekeeping, who were there shortly after they checked out and personal observations, we were not able to grant their request for a refund. None of people we talked with, or ourselves, noticed any issue.
We do keep a dehumidifier in the living room that is used in the summer months. We suggested running the air conditioning and dehumidifier to address the unseasonal warm weather that was causing poor ski conditions. The “obvious water damage” in the kitchen floor resulted from a water leak in the condo above ours several years ago and was address and repaired.
When we advised our guest of our decision their response was, “Well, I guess my only recourse is to put in a review to try to warn others.”
Finally, we contacted the guest that stayed in the condo shortly before this stay, as well at the quest that followed this stay and both did not have any issues with the unit.
