We love this cabin and location! Gorgeous site with loons, osprey, and baby red squirrels entertaining us. Beds are comfortable, kitchen nice, gorgeous view! Perfect!!! Host is wonderful and quickly responsive.
This cabin was amazing, better than we could have imagined! Very clean, modern amenities, beautiful scenery, and cozy vibes! The cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Kevin and his neighbors were all super friendly and welcoming, we would definitely stay here again!

Thank you Jenna and family! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and we appreciate your having taken such great care of our place!! We hope you will visit again very soon!
If you're looking to stay in a new, clean, well appointed and maintained cabin "up north", this is a great choice! New appliances, large screen tv, wifi, great bathroom with walk-in shower, deck overlooking the lake, big fire pit with plenty of firewood, access to dock, paddleboards, hiking trail, and dog friendly too- it's a very nice getaway just a few hours from the cities. Only thing that could make it better would be if one bedroom offered a standard queen bed instead of bunks with one side against the wall. Still, we had a great trip and would totally recommend it!
We spent a fall weekend here. The cabin is adorable and had everything we needed. Loved watching swans, loons and geese on the lake, and our walk on the Soo Line Trail(it’s RIGHT there!). Great fire pit also. Highly recommend .

In town for a veterans ride. Great little cabin. So clean and cozy. Right on the trail and can ride out from the house Kevin is wonderful to deal with. Highly recommend and if we are ever in the area will definitely book again
Wow this place was amazing! The cabin was amazing and right on the lake! We are big bird watchers and saw pelicans, swans, lions, osprey, and eagles. Several kinds of turtles including snappers. The fire pit area is lovely as is the deck facing the lake. I just wish we had more time to stay! But we definitely will come back and the hosts were very receptive to all of our questions! We stay at a lot of VRBO properties and this one earns an A+.

Thanks, Cyndi! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! Take care and safe travels! Kevin
The view from this rental is amazing! It's very close to the water and we saw pelicans, cranes, eagles, geese, loons, and even a turtle. The cabin is new so there were no holes in the screens and the sliding doors worked perfectly. The decor is lovely and there were plenty of glasses, plates, and flatware. The internet is very fast. We appreciated the free firewood and being able to sit on the dock on this quiet lake. We had a lovely stay!

UpNorth in Bigfoot territory with great accommodations
This place is excellent. The pictures look good and it is better in person. The owners did a lot of extras and you see the details throughout. The view of the lake from the cabin is outstanding. There is a lot of wildlife. My wife found over 10 new birds on her Meliln App and we saw many deer, otters, eagles, and even wolves. We saw the Mississippi headwaters at Lake Itasca and traveled to nice local towns such as Walker, Grand Rapids, and Remer (local). The owners were great to work with. I have stayed at some good places on VRBO and this is a top one.
This cabin was the ideal getaway for two couples, peaceful, private, and absolutely stunning. It was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with everything we could possibly need. The beds were comfortable, and we all slept great thanks to the blackout curtains. Most of our time was spent outdoors, fishing, lounging on the deck overlooking the lake, and unwinding around the cozy fire pit. The lake is just steps away, offering beautiful, serene views that make every moment feel like a retreat. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking, and we loved grilling and dining outside in the fresh air. Wildlife was everywhere, adding to the charm and natural beauty of the setting. Being surrounded by the quiet of the woods made it easy to disconnect and relax. It truly felt like a hidden gem. We’re already talking about coming back!

Thank you for taking such great care of our little cabin and for your thoughtful review! You should be a travel writer!!! We hope you will come back soon! Take care!
Every now ‘n then, you find a place on VRBO or Air B&B that you kinda hesitate to review, because it was so great, you want to kinda keep it a secret from the world - just to preserve the greatness!! This is that kind of place to me. My husband and I enjoyed a very quiet and relaxing time at this lovely place and the location was so great for what we wanted… we talked, biked and played cribbage. It was perfect!! The cabin is well appointed, and off the road far enough to avoid traffic noises. The owners/hosts are lovely people who were very helpful in answering the questions we had - they are very kind and helpful people. We will definitely be back to rent again - in fact, our return trip is already booked!! Thank you K &T!!
We had an amazing time at our cozy cottage on Big Sand Lake. The cabin has all the amenities one needs. It was very clean and comfortable. Kevin was a fabulous host and was always quick to communicate if needed. He put us in touch with a pontoon boat rental for the week which was easy and convenient. The lake has very little boat traffic as most of the shoreline is part of the Chippewa National Forest. We had great fishing for Crappie, Bass, Bluegill and Pike. The lake was full of wildlife including Loons, Eagles, Osprey, Terns, Pelicans, Hummingbirds and we saw on Otter. Nothing like going to sleep to the calls of Loons on the lake. There are many cute little towns within 45 minutes drive including Remer, Walker, Bemigi and Park Rapids. We saw a momma bear and two cubs on our drive to Walker (the cubs climbed a tree when we pulled over and were checking us out). The cabin has a great fire pit area and the owner had plenty of stocked firewood. For being quite remote we didn't feel like we were roughing it at all (AC, washer/dryer, dish washer and ice maker. I highly recommend this property for a small family looking to getaway on a small and quiet lake. It was perfect for what we were looking for!
