It's rare to find a place that's both historic and one-of-a-kind. The Martin House is a 1 Bedroom Cottage offering a King bed en suite full bath and private balcony patio. The Martin House also offers a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room. A beautifully restored house on the historic property of the New Kent Ordinary. The host was responsive with any questions we had. The house was very clean. The bed slept amazingly. Just wish there had been a tv downstairs in the living area. Overall the house was great.
Our stay at the Martin House was wonderful. Our host looked after our needs and gave us excellent service and attention. This IS a quiet place despite its proximity to the road. The grounds are well kept. Very picturesque. We were able to reach the Richmond and Williamsburg areas easily on the nearby interstate as well as county and state back roads. Google Maps has this area captured. My wife and I recommend this location. Sleepers sensitive to light may want to bring sleep mask. Kitchen had no microwave and a TV was only upstairs in the bedroom. Furnishings were very comfortable.
The Martin House was perfect to stay in as part of our honeymoon! We loved the history behind the house and The Ordinary. The house was clean and we loved the antique furniture and decorations. The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful. It was equidistant to Kings Dominion and to Busch Gardens Williamsburg.Pam was a wonderful host and we would absolutely stay here again if we’re ever back down this way!
Had a wonderful time in New Kent. Went to Saude Creek, Upper Shirley, New Kent/Talleysville and Martha's during our stay. All were lovely and we had this great cottage to come back to each night. We will be back.
Loved all about it and will definitely go back. Street number is wrong on VRBO. Thankfully my sister lives in the area and was able to get us there.
