Cozy French Woods Cottage, Pond and Pool

Within 13 miles of charming Callicoon on the Delaware sits this private, renovated Cottage in the French Woods area south of Hancock, with a gorgeous pond with island, and a swimming pool with a friendly carpeted deck, truly a paradise for children. The expansive deck around the cottage provides beautiful views of surrounding French Woods Farm and the countryside. There is a BBQ and a ping-pong table for friendly competition! Uncle Joe's Cottage at French Woods Farm has two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and a comfortable day bed, and the other bedroom has a freestanding twin, and a double with a twin bunk. Two full baths, a living room with another day bed and a wood stove for cool nights, a kitchen with counter seating and a separate dining area round out the picture. The split system with units in both bedrooms and in the great room provides air conditioning and heating. The Delaware River is just 5 miles away where you can enjoy river activities at the Lordville Public Access. A short drive will take you to Hancock for shopping, restaurants, movie theater and more.

Visit the Callicoon Farmer's Market year-round on Sundays, 11-2pm at Callicoon Creek Park and stock up on fresh produce, fruits, breads, pastries, and cheeses. The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the original site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival, is just a 30 minute drive away. Or play a round of golf at the French Woods Golf Course just a mile south on Route 97. Take a ride on the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway, which is Route 97, as it extends from Hancock to Port Jervis, and visit the Roebling Bridge and other historic places and museums along the way. Or spend an afternoon with a river guide and learn how to fly fish. There are nice hiking opportunities nearby. Get ready for the most striking views of the Delaware River Valley from famous Jensen's Ledges.

Summer camps such as French Woods Camp, Camp IHC, Camp Equinunk, Camp Blue Ridge, and others in northern Wayne County, are all within 2-10 miles or less, as is a lovely wedding venue, Handsome Hollow, on quaint Delaware Route 28 outside of Fishs Eddy, NY.

Don't forget to pack your life jackets for pool, pond and river activities. We do not provide boats or any other water apparatus, and recreation is at your own risk. There is a river outfitter in Hancock where you can rent kayaks and canoes.
