Loved our stay in Clontarf. Close enough to the city, cute village just a short walk away with a nice grocery and a few restaurants. House was perfect for our family — lots of bedrooms and plenty of common spaces.
House was perfect for our needs - large family home. We had a large group staying for a family wedding. 5 bedrooms were perfect. Large kitchen with all you could want. There were lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance as well as public transport nearby.
A very comfortable, well equipped home in a lovely neighborhood. There is a grocery store nearby and bus stops are relatively close. We really enjoyed the patio with a view of the beautiful back yard.
Family of 4 stayed for a week.
This was home away from home and provided us with plenty of room and a base that was central to other family members.
We were met by Peter who showed us around and ensured we had a decent cup of tea and biscuits at the ready.
Walking distance to lovely cafes and supermarket. The Dart is a bit more of a walk but doable and it’s only one stop to Connelly St station.
The house was great for our family’s stay in the Dublin area. Peter met us earlier than our check in time which was so accommodating after our overnight flight. Peter was warm and welcoming, taking a couple of us for a quick tour of the neighborhood, pointing out the grocery store and other nearby sites.
The house was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The neighborhood was beautiful and convenient for our various Dublin activities, including a family wedding. I would definitely stay here again!
We had a lovely stay at this home in Clontarf. It’s spacious, cozy and well-equipped. The hosts were communicative and easy to get in touch with. The home is in a beautiful neighborhood and felt very safe. It is also quite convenient - We were able to walk to the grocery store, the Castle (for dinner/drinks) and the bus stop within about 5 minutes. The 130 bus took us directly into Dublin for 2-3 euro per person (20-40 min ride depending on which side of the Liffy you choose). Taxis are also easy to get and cost 25-30 euro to do the same. The house has 3 bedrooms upstairs and 2 downstairs - plenty of space to spread out. And the patio is lovely - the perfect spot for coffee/tea/cards. I was debating whether to get a hotel/small condo in the city, so as to be close to the action, or to stay further out and enjoy some space. So glad we chose this home!Things to note:There is not air conditioning but even in July this was not an issue as the weather is quite temperate and you can sleep with the windows open. There is a control panel for the hot water heater both downstairs and a switch upstairs in the primary. It’s simple to use once you know how to work it but make sure you get instruction on this. This house uses traditional keys and the doors lock behind you so keep a set on you at all time. We never had an issue locking ourselves out but it is something to be aware of. Short story - stop looking elsewhere and stay here!
Very nice home in the high-end neighborhood of Clontarf. Everything was perfect, the kitchen was well equipped, the house was clean and very comfortable. Peter was a delight to chat with, and even drove me around a bit to show me the neighborhood. It's about a 20 minute bus into central Dublin.
We were in this property for 20 days. It is very comfortable. Plenty of room for our family members. We had six at one time. Location is great. We were able to walk to the bus stop, train Station, grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants. Taxis were also very reasonable for going into Dublin City Center.

A Genuine Home From Home
My Family and I stayed in this fantastic house for an extended period of seven weeks when our home was being renovated. It is a real home from home with every convenience that you could possibly require, especially if you are staying/traveling with children. It is a very large property (though really warm and cozy) with a great back garden ( which our kids loved exploring) situated in a lovely residential street in a great neighbourhood. There are a host of amenities close by, public transport, restaurants, great supermarket and the sea! The property managers are fantastic and could not do enough to help us during our stay. Communication with the owners was very straight forward quick and easy. This is a great house in a great location and we highly recommend it.
Beautiful house in great neighborhood. Driveway to park rental car, and easy access to Uber taxis when going out to pubs. Peter our host met us early and was wonderful. He even drove us around the neighborhood pointing out the grocery store and pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Well appointed kitchen had everything we needed for cooking breakfast. You will not go wrong booking this property
Sunny, comfortable, on tree lined residential street. Short walk to pubs and shops. Plenty of private sleep spaces 3 up and 2 down, 3 full baths. In house laundry, sunny porch looking into the beautiful garden. Only cons: small baths and shower stalls, TV menu was in German and couldn’t be changed. Still able to do Netflix and YouTube eventually.
Roomy and comfortable house in a great location. Excellent shops and restaurants nearby. The Clontarf Castle Hotel and the Clontarf Promenade are within easy walking distance. Great bus service into the city center.
This home is in a fantastic location with all the amenities you need … easy to book & hosts are genuinely friendly and reflect what real Irish people are all about. Thanks again!
My husband, myself and our two children stayed in this home away from home. It made our trip to Ireland more comfortable, especially when traveling with two young children. The house is light and airy. We spent a lot of time in the sunroof drinking our tea and coffee. Peter, the property manager, was extremely helpful in getting us settled and showing us around the Clontarf neighborhood which is a hidden gem tucked away from the bustling city center. We were able to walk to grocery stores and nearby sights as well as the DART train station. Taxis were readily available and very reasonable. If we come back to Ireland, we know where to stay! Thank you Frank and Catherina for making our stay enjoyable.
I traveled with my daughters and family. The property is beautiful, with comfortable accomodations for the whole family, it has all the comfort of home. It's within walking distance to public transportation, Supermarket, restaurants and pubs, the area is secure and family oriented. Peter met us and gave us the instructions for the property and tips for the surrounding area. We had an amazing time and it was great to have a nice place to come back and relax from all the sightseeing. We will be back!
Lovely stay in this large, comfortable house in a very nice residential area close to the Clontarf promenade.
Comfortable, lots of space for everyone, a washer and dryer and a kitchen which contains everything you need.
Recommend 100%, especially to families
We got caught in the midst of a global health crisis, the property was our one saving grace in all the mess. It was the perfect house and location for a bunch of Canadians to self isolate! Gay and Peter were lovely hosts. Would love to return someday under better circumstances.
First off, the location is perfect for walks and public transit. Just 5 mins to small parks and the waterfront promenade; 20-30 mins to larger parks and Dublin city center (depending on where in city center, may be more like 45). Buses and taxis are convenient, great local shops, food, and grocery just a few blocks away.
Second, the property is an ideal rental. The house is huge by Dublin living standards, and while the decor might be a little quirky (“cottage shabby chic” comes to mind), it made us feel a bit more at home knowing that if a cup or plate had a mishap, we weren’t destroying a perfectly planned set. We had 4 adults and 2 toddlers, but with an occasional overnight guest from Dublin as well during our stay - it can easily accommodate 2-4 more depending on your bed needs. The house also has all of those perfect “oh I forgot that” items (umbrellas? Baby toys? Vacation reading? Ireland tour books?) and a very well-appointed kitchen for a rental, which came in handy for us!
Finally, the hosts were amazing - Peter and Gay greeted one of our relatives for the key handoff, Catherina was great with correspondence and questions, and when we did have a minor problem with an appliance, someone was there to fix it within a couple of hours.
One of my favorite things about the house is that it’s suited to any weather - helpful in unpredictable Dublin if you’re planning to spend at the house during your stay. The covered outdoor area was wonderful to keep us outside even through a sprinkle/mist/downpour in warmer weather, and the indoor sunroom warmly cheered us up when it was cold and blustery.
We’ll be coming back - highly recommended.
