Less than a five-second walk to our private lakefront and dock, our cottage features full views of the water from the kitchen, living room, and bedroom. Watch elegant cranes walk along the lake shore from the comfort of your own bed or couch. Sip morning coffee on the dock. Enjoy the sunset over the water from our living room couch. Beautiful setting --needs a few improvements

The property is set on a lovely lake. The view is terrific. It is clean and recently remodeled. I think it will be a good stay with some tweaks. The water system desperately needs treatment for hydrogen sulfide. The water was so stinky that we did not take showers and were afraid to drink it. Having a supply of coffee for guests would be a nice add. We paid a healthy cleaning fee and so did not think it was our responsibility to do the dishes and take out the garbage.

We are so sorry for the water quality issue during your stay. We installed a brand-new water heater a month before your visit. However, the company that installed the water heater incorrectly installed a component that was not suitable for well water. After getting your review, we immediately contacted the company and they corrected their mistake. This mechanical failure of the new water heater due to an incorrect installation will not happen again in the future. We deeply apologize that this issue happened during your stay and impacted your time at the cottage. We strive to make every stay at our cottage as special as possible and deeply regret that yours was impacted by this unfortunate mechanical failure. Warmest, Thea and James

The "few improvements" got fixed and it wasn't their fault!

This small but surprisingly open house is newly remodeled, on a quiet lake with beautiful birds all around. It's on a penninsula so it's got great views, and the sunset was glorious. My husband and I were the second people to stay, having checked in the same day the last people who left the other review checked out. We, too, noted the very strong sulfuric smell of the hot water, but unlike them we notified the emergency number the hosts had kindly given as soon as we noted it. They were willing to pay the cost for an emergency plumber to come out, but we worked with them to help them figure out that the issue was the hot water heater. Turns out that the company who installed the brand new water heater they purchased in May made one tiny but very significant mistake and put the wrong sort of anode in (not the one for well water), and this is why the sulfur smell was so bad. The owners were heartbroken that this issue impacted our stay, refunded the entire amount, and were crushed by the other 3-star review. As small business owners ourselves, we know that it is often easier to leave a bad review than it is to help a new business get going. Although our stay was marked "cancelled" we asked the owners to please change it so we could leave a review, and I am glad they did! We sincerely hope that others will support the owners of this adorable cabin on a lake and give them a try. The house is really nice, the lake is quiet, and the owners really care.

The community is so safe that It's common for folks not to lock their cars or front doors. You will enjoy a private dock and lakefront. You are also welcome to use the shared sandy beach for residents and guests only which is just a two-minute walk away.
