My family and I started going here over 30 years ago. I absolutely loved Huntingdon County the moment I arrived. Its a easy drive from where we live in Morgantown PA. I love the outdoors. I enjoy sitting on the balcony looking at the deer, turkey, bunnies, humming birds, and lots of other woodland creatures. Its relaxing and I am comfortable going alone. My family and I go hike and explore a lot. I get up before the Sun rises and fish sometimes until the sun sets. We love dirt track races, country fairs, Steam trains and tractor pulls. Something is always going on in Raystown Country! I think we will be moving here permanently someday. I want to let others in on this beautiful area. Come and check it out! You may just fall in love with it like I did!!! I want people or families to have an affordable option and come relax, hike, hunt, fish and so on. Its easy to make memories that last a lifetime here.

Why they chose this property

As you turn off Aughwick Mills Rd on to the private dirt road you will see a cozy, well maintained, comfortable cabin, that is surrounded by the woods. The warm color of the cabin blends in to the backdrop of the woods. The large balcony and the lower level patio have plenty of outdoor seating. There is a small stream flowing that you can hear as you relax on the balcony. There is so much diverse wild life all around for viewing in the day or the night. It’s a very peaceful and relaxing spot. It is a perfect location to sit back and read a book, have coffee on the balcony, or sit by the fire pit and listen to the owls calling to each other. Any time spent at this cabin will be enjoyable and memorable. This 5-acre spot is the absolute perfect get away. Its in the middle of nowhere, but close to everything. No matter what the season, there is so much to see and enjoy.

What makes this property unique

This cabin was originally built in the 1970’s. It is unique, not only offering rustic charm, it has modern amenities (internet, smart TV, central air/heating system). It has plenty of space inside and out. Three bedrooms, a nice kitchen with a table to seat 4. It offers a full bathroom. It also has 2 separate sitting areas. There is a fire pit in the yard and a charcoal grill (just waiting to be fired up!). You will enjoy all the outdoor seating (balcony, lower porch, around firepit, and backyard). It is an affordable family vacation for 4 (sleeps up to 6). The stay includes all linens, towels, toiletries, coffee bar, games, DVDs, internet, full of utensils kitchen, kitchen paper products, area maps, suggested things to do, and some in site on my personal favorite local fishing spots. Just bring your suit case, and some food and you are set!
