We had been to 49 states before our arrival. Now, we’ve been to all 50!
Newport was a great choice. It was a fun city. The location of the AirBnB was ideal, close to restaurants, shops, and a view of the ships and harbor.
We had just finished a very hectic 6 weeks and were looking to relax. This cottage was an excellent choice. It is perfectly situated as we were able to park on the property and walk everywhere. Nearby are the sailing museum, tennis museum and an automotive museum. We walked by the water and saw beautiful boats unlike what we see in California. There are cute shops, the church where JFK was married, and lots of food choices. We opted to eat at the cottage most meals and found all that we needed in the kitchen. We did try a new restaurant during their soft opening called Mountain Moose… outstanding! Our trip was during the off season and we had no crowd issues. The cottage has a rustic garden area perfect spot for reading or a little morning coffee, a comfortable bed, two full bathrooms..one upstairs and one downstairs, it was certainly welcoming. We had just come from dog shows in PA and had our two small dogs with us. As I walked with my dogs, I realized I have never found a more dog friendly community than this one. Little shops had signs “no food or drinks” but dogs were OK.. water bowls and potty stations were abundant and so the walkways were clean.
