About this property
King Bed Villa with Hot Tub + Killer Views
A flowing hilltop Spanish-tiled villa with a long shaded patio, super comfy beds (king and queen), verified fast WiFi, oversized rain shower, full chef's kitchen with essential ingredients, a full coffee station with multiple preparation methods, good books, abundant wildlife and catch-your-breath views in every direction, minutes to shopping and to the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park.
Across the road, we own another unfenced five acres, which you are free to wander on. At night, wander over, let your eyes adjust to the darkness, then witness the amazing show the universe puts on almost every night.
Although this is the only house on the top of a hill amid 60 acres of preserved land, we're only five minutes from the grocery stores and about 10 to the park entrance.
The views are incredible: first, you can see all of Twenytnine Palms and Highway 62 a mile away. Then, 30 miles to the west, the tallest mountain in southern California, Mt. San Gorgonio, looms above our valley. To the south, two miles away, are the rugged Pinto Mountains, forming the northern border of Joshua Tree National Park. To the north is the sprawling marine base and behind it the Bullion Mountains and the sharp-peaked Sheephole Mountains. Then to the east, 50 miles away in the far distance, are the Turtle Mountains, looking over us on one side and the Colorado River on the other. It's a huge panorama in every direction.
The house has lots of big windows, two living room areas, and two outdoor seating areas (on opposite sides so there's always a quiet place if it's windy), so there are lots of opportunities to admire the view.
There's lots to do in the area, from (of course) enjoying the outdoors, to excellent restaurants, famous music venues, lots of public art, and if you want some chi-chi options, Palm Springs is just "down the hill" and Vegas is a gorgeous 2.5-hr drive. To help my guests with the choices, I put together a printed guide that you'll find upon arrival, including restaurant reviews, shopping, exploring the area, and generally giving you my recommendations.
It's a terrific place to spend a week or many months.
